Despite paying my yearly subs I have repeatedly tried to re-sort my forum access by emailing ABS....

To no avail.....

I'd happily share her when she's done. What point having a beautiful rare car if other petrolheads can't see her? We're merely the current owner, and have a duty.

Without forum access I doubt I'll be turning up to any ABS events though.
I co-run another Vauxhall Club and I am sure many of our members would be delighted for you to be a part of that, should you choose to be involved of course.

Fermit - I'm not far from you and may make a trip for my seats to have a facelift as they're looking a bit tatty.

Thanks.
Brill, feel free to contact, details in my profile.

I had a brand new LC bought in 1991 and number 210. It was, and hopefully will remain, the most unreliable car I have a ever owned. Two weeks after buying it I went on holiday with a few friends and washed the car while I was there. I closed the boot and heard a click; the car locked itself with my keys in it. The RAC man said he'd been out to fix loads and believe me, it was VERY easy to get in it. It had a short motor, clutch, head and various other bits and pieces over the next 2-3 years. I got to drive any number of Vauxhall loaners during that time. The most annoying fault was cutting out on the way home several times. I eventually had a look under the back and found the fuel tank kept imploding. I also found I was a dab hand at driving it without a clutch when the pivot pin snapped. Eventually I threatened Vauxhall with legal action so they agreed to take it back for a couple of days. Although I know it was the same one, it drove like a different car when it came back and was sensibly reliable after that. I still get folk asking me now if I've still got the car. A wonderful thing when it was behaving itself. Good luck with yours; I'm sure most of the issues I had will have been sorted ages ago on your car.

Wow, you still own it? Bravo. Obviously looking back it's easy to see why you wouldn't - and had you sold, perhaps you'd have rose tinted glasses - and regret. But even so!

Sorry, I didn't make it clear the car was eventually sold a few years ago having hung around in my garage and not being used. I suspected the head gasket was on its way out so sold it to a mate in the trade (I did tell him about the head gasket, too!). I replaced it with a VXR500 which I have still got.

I recall "making good progress" along with one of these down the A11 a few years ago back when I had my Scorpio 24V Cosworth; lovely cars!

I can see your point of view on a rolling back to 0. It's the closest you could possibly get to driving a new one out the showroom. Watching it climb from 0 through regular use would be satisfying.

I think it should stay though. The car does still have a history and it's like pretending it never had one.

Love the effort, keep it up

Another vote for keeping the mileage original...it's part of the car's history IMHO.

The pictures of the refurb on it have just popped up on ABS, it looks like its getting the royal treatment too. Quite impressed at the depth they`re going and the effort being put into it.

Do you want me to put the link on here or pm it to you?

The garage doing the work has put it on there.

Was the engine done by Phil?

Hey guys, Ive stumbled across this forum after trying to do research on the lotus omega that i have just acquired and in need of a bit of love. So after reading this mighty thread I thought I'd join and see if I could pick your brains to help me bring the car back to its former glory.

You might do very well to join Autobahnstormers site as well - yes it does cost a few quid, but there are some exceptionally knowledgeable people in there as well and with the connections necessary to get hold of some parts etc

Ahhh, Zeb put it up.

To any ABS members, please don't re publish that link. Keep it just via ABS.
Sorry if I have missed a post saying what I am going to ask but are you eventually going to post the build pictures from ABS on here?
