I'll try to read this thread sometime. I have some interest in the Citroën but at the moment I'm struggling to look past that W201.

So what's next? I have nothing for everyday use, now. Bravely considering an Alfa 159.
You don't have to be brave to consider a 159, I bought a 1.9JTDm Lusso SportWagon about 10 months ago and have done ~10k since no issues (apart from a cracked windscreen, not the cars fault, and changing the water pump as a precaution). Good selection of engines to choose from. 1.9 diesel to V6 24v petrol, nice inside and good (different) looks.

Interesting and rare read on PH... thanks very much. smile

I've looked at the 159ti a few times and just never had the balls to pull the trigger. I think it's one of the best looking, if not THE best looking car of the sector/class.

Cheers,

Looks nice.

How much before it's worth a quid?

I don't get this fear of running an Alfa, the engine, diesel, is used by other manufactures (SAAB?), the mechanics are mainly Fiat (related). They're just another modern car, but look much better than most wink The fact that people are still influenced by a reputation gained in the 70's is great for buyers though.
