Nice Orion, a friend had two, one a Mk1 Orion as a first car. That lasted a week until he rolled it. His second was a white Mk2 with the Orion Pepperpots.

I was slightly envious, it was 1997 and we were both 17 and all I could afford was an '86 Mk3 Escort 1.1

He later changed the wheels to those diamond cut 7 spokes you got on the RS Kitted Mondeos. Looked very nice. The ride probably suffered though.

New lights outside, so thought I'd try a couple of pics of the car...

From the colour to the wheels, I don't think I would change a thing
Agree.

It's stunning, very rare to see a modified car that you would'nt change in some way to suit yourself but i would'nt change a thing either, nothing looks out of place, the engine bay (the whole car even) could be mistaken for factory RS stock (only a whole lot cleaner and better put together)

I love the old 70's, 80's and early 90's Fords and your car is absolutely stunning. Orions are such a rare sight nowadays and you've modified it very tastefully.

I think the only thing I would change if it was mine, and it's a very minor thing, is to have the front intercooler painted either matt black or a dark grey.

Love the colour of the wheels though.

Top job. As I'm sure is your intention it looks as if it were built by Ford as an Orion RS.

Quite rare to get pretty universal acclaim on here. I hope you are proud, OP biggrin

I don't like this at all, think it looks like its trying to be a sierra.

But it is obviously done to a very high standard and you clearly love it and enjoy doing it so I applaud you.

Wouldn't the world be a boring place if we all liked the same things.

Well done to you sir.

Not tried to make it look like a Sierra, it's just the Saff spoilers suit them so well imo...
I just wanted to paint it in a period Ford colour that wasn't put on the car from factory...
The intention was to build it so it looked as if it come from the factory, just alittle better...
Just with alot more bhp...
Cheers for the positive comments...

Universal acclaim for five minutes - still a record on here!

As others have said, it's trying (rather successfully) to look like the Orion RS that Ford never made - not a Sierra.

As I said a few months ago, some features are not to my personal taste, but I can see what the op is going for and I think he's achieved it very well! Proper job.

I read the specs to start with and my initial thoughts were 'oh dear' then i saw the pics and I was pleasantly surprised, it looks awesome. My one comment is, are you going to swap the rear headrests for the Recaro type? To my mind they have to match biggrin OCD? Possibly wink

Great to see the car going/looking well Chris I'd definitely advise the Recaro rear headrests easy to fit and completes the package well wink
