Haha, don't be so jealous Jezmond! hehe

A bit more progress last night, all pipe work done, throttle body mounted, radiator hoses (new yellow to match) fitted.

Not much left to do;

Injector wiring
Oil system for charger (sorting some 8mm pipe today for this)
Fit ECU
Mapping.

I've never been in one, looking forward to giving it a bit and seeing how it goes.

Just done an emergency order of some 8mm pipework as we realised last night I bought 6mm.

If? If? Lol. It'll run!!

And absolutely, I'll take it for a bit of a run!

A bit of a different angle to show it all off, air filter back on.

Ooo will go very well once done!

Where are you going for mapping?
It's being done by a local company to me. They're pretty good at mapping by all accounts.
Fair enough, quite far away in Cornwall from any of the regular Honda tuners mentioned on the forums!

Silly question, what is the advantage/reasoning of having the open filter on your setup as opposed to the Tegiwa/Gruppe M style intake?

No advantage or reasoning, just that it was a stload cheaper and when I bought it is isn't want to spend loads on mods rofl

I may change to a Gruppe M eventually along with a manifold/exhaust and an intercooler.

Ah, for some reason I thought you had one of those before the change but ditched it!

Agree regarding the costs though, would love one for mine but to expensive really.

No, I had an AEM V2, that almost killed my engine over Christmas last year when it sucked up a lot of water! I decided then to go for a closed one with a cold air feed I can run for the summer.

Sooooooo close. Arrrgh.

Only need a couple more bolts to mount the oil cooler and another bit of pipe to plumb it in, fill the oil, bleed it through and it's ready to fire up. Fingers crossed!!

We had to notch the slam panel by the crossover pipe, it is all right but it does all fit!

I'm absolutely fascinated by these, do you know if it changes the character of the engine at all, i.e. is it still a high rev screamer but with more power and torque across the range?

I've always liked superchargers, they just seem a more elegant solution from the driving fun point of view than a turbo, albeit less effecient so worse for MPG etc.

That's the idea, still with the same revs but with more power across the rev range. Peak power was previously at 8100rpm and peak torque at something like 6500rpm so looking to bring those down and the numbers up!

What's the manifold like? It's looks to have virtually no runner length at all! Thing can't help with the low end torque.

Also I noticed the later chargers are mounted the other side of the engine and off a driveshaft but use a stock inlet manifold.

Very interested to see how this turns out as i'm tempted to go down the same route, turbocharging is too expensive really and also changes the character of the car. I'm currently running 245 with bolt ons and map so only other option is cams but £1500 for an extra 15hp is just silly.Would be great if you could list how much it has cost you sourcing all parts yourself, who is mapping it?
