Yeah I'm not sure, I'm out with my mates on Monday night. They're all pretty brutally honest so I'll see what they say!

Intercooler is in the pipeline (ha) and hopefully be on before July 16th as I'm planning on going to a local RWYB day!

Well I didn't go to the RWYB in the end, I'm still very cautios about giving the car too much abuse without the intercooler on.

The car is booked in from this friday to have the work started, custom piping and a twin pass (I think) intercooler.

The Hondata ECU has a handy bluetooth app that you can link to your phone and display guages and information and I managed to grab this today to show how the car is suffering at the moment with the high external temps!

88 Degress inlet is simply not cool (ha) so I'm looking forward to seeing how much difference the intercooler makes and if the car makes any more power!

FWIW I've seen inlet temps as high as 150degC (non IC supercharged MX5). That was on track.

power was much reduced as you'd expect, but as long as the car is tuned correctly, you're not going to cause any damage

Well after having the front end of the car apart for a look it seems like a front mount is going to be a LOT of work, days worth of pipework to contend with.

So it looks like we're going for a chargecooler, battery relocated to the boot and chargecooler mounted where it normally lives. Should be interesting to see how it all goes in!!

So another day, another change of plan. Back to a front mount! Car is currently in pieces being assesed to see what will go where and what won't, it looks like hard work to get it all in.

On a related note, the air filter seems to have a hole in it..

Which is not good. It doesn't look like much has actually gone, just that it's torn. Bit annoying as it needs replacement now.

So I'm just leaving the car at the garage, let them sort it all out smile

Is that one of those pipercross or equiv foam filters? Always terrible for ripping. Once they get old and brittle seem to fall apart.

It's a Pipercross Viper. Fitted it last year.

Will replace with a K&N or similar when the intercooler etc has been finalised.

Popped by to have a quick look, battery is now in the boot.

Looks like we are going for a single pass intercooler, 2 inch piping. Maybe the end of next week?!

Not sure if this will work, here's an attempt at a 0-60 run. I would say just under 6 seconds? (I need a VBOX really) and the standard car does about 6.4 according to wiki.

Well there's an intercooler now in place...

Mockup of where the oil cooler will sit, behind the upper grill. You can see some of the pipe on the bottom left where the metal of the car has been 'fettled' to get it through.

More to come!

I've had a short shifter on the car for a few months but it's just the bolt on type that does 'ok' but I spotted this on eBay and couldn't resist.

It's a Buddyclub short shifter, supposedly to be a very nice bit of kit to use!

I agree.

The intercooler & oil cooler are also very good additions which will add performance & peace of mind.

Cheers chaps.

Just need to decide if I bite the bullet and spunk £550 on a Solid Fabrications 3" exhaust now!

Hoping the car will be back this week from having the cooler fitted, I've missed it!

The FMIC totally needs to go black to hide the fact its supercharged.

Looks wrong with the big blingy chrome intercooler showing

I actually really like it hehe

There's something about an intercooler on a car that isn't supposed to have one that is pretty cool IMO.

Think you have posted in the wrong topic.

Perhaps a slightly darker shade of grey for the intercooler will make it a little less in your face yet still largely visible.
