Just a little update. I haven’t really got anywhere near as much done as I wanted to, a newborn baby, busy work etc etc.

I decided to waste some time cleaning up the engine bay a little, removed the manky soundproofing (pointless on a car this loud!) and put some stickers on! Cleaned up around the inner wings where years of crud had built up.

I also gave the interior a bit of a tidy up, and the outside a bit of a wash.

I’ve splashed out on some replacement (black) caps for the wheel nuts as the anodised red ones have discoloured. That’s about all I’ve been upto!

I did go an fill it up with fuel around 2 weeks ago, £1.75ppl! I almost fell over. Luckily I’ve only covered 800 miles since November with the X3 doing most of the hard work!

I used to have a facelift Milano EP3, my mods were black buddyclub p1’s, hks exhaust, induction kit, Jdm red carpet and mats which were an absolute mission to find, although the ones I ended up buying were literally brand new looking.

I have nothing but fond memories of that car, I sold it back in 2011 to move to a championship white fn2, did a few mods to that and ended up selling it to a family member who I’m about to buy it back from.

Love type R’s

Never mind about the front badge post, I just noticed yours was from last year!

Well another month goes by, no news or changes on the car really. I have covered a whopping 500 miles so far this year. It is booked in for a full detail and ceramic coat this weekend to get it shiny for the summer!

In other news I have bought another daily hehe the X3 was a bit too thirsty and a bit big for just me cruising around so I took and offer on that and bought this to replace it..

It’s an E Sport TDI with the legendary 1.9 TDI PD engine, £30 per year RFL and currently getting 57MPG which is over double the X3

I’ve repainted the B pillar trims that were flaking, fitted some new plates and a set of 18” Leon FR wheels that we had at work. Next is to get some touch ins done and a machine polish.

More Honda content soon, promise hehe

I collected the car this evening from the detailer. I’ve never been too sure on detailing, the work and costs involved. We recently took a guy on at work for preparing our stock cars and honestly his work blew me away.

We negotiated a deal on my car and I dropped it off yesterday and left it with him, unfortunately I left my keys in the car so he came and got me in his TVR Griffith and took me for a spin which was a nice treat.

Anyway, back to this evening. I was blown away by the job. A 2 stage machine polish and coated in 5 year ceramic coating, I’d wager it’s never looked better, even when brand new. Worth every penny.

Even the rear lights got some treatment which they desperately needed!

My favourite colour for an EP3 (apart from Championship White) will always be a Milano Red example. I looked for red but could only find pink, and Premier Editions in red seem almost impossible to find. I settled for Nighthawk and it shows every swirl, dust and bird crap going. I’d love your guy to sort mine.

Out of interest, are the Bembos a big improvement?

I’d love a set of DC5 Bembos installed, think it’s a 5-10mm wheel spacer for OEM wheels? But I’ve heard some people say they couldn’t see any improvement at all.

Yes, they are like night/day IMO.

I think it’s different because mine have 324mm 350z discs with the brembo caliper (Megane RS fitment) but the DC5 disc is 300mm which the EP3 has anyway, so I supposed you’re getting a 4 pot caliper but no extra disc size….

I've driven the car for the first time in 3 weeks, given it a quick wash off for some photos for the insurance company (I've asked for a £15k agreed value) and going to drive it home again hehe

I also fitted a dashcam, thought it might be interesting in case I come across anything interesting to play with on the way home.

I'm going to get a new timing chain and some general maintenance sorted over the next few months, keep it all running nicely. I might go crazy and buy a Progress 24mm ARB as I think they look cool. hehe

Pic dump below.

The civic has been languishing on the drive on a batter charger, I will definitely possibly maybe drive it this week hehe

I’ve actually been spending time driving and fettling my new daily driver (I’m going to keep this one) which is a remapped E91 330D. I’ve wanted one for a long time, this is Le Mans blue (like my 5 series was)

So far

CF mirror caps (because I’m a tart)
BMW orbit grey wheels
Wind deflectors
Black grille
I’m going to tint the windows and then just cruise it around.

Its the antithesis to the Civic, torquey, quiet, auto, relatively good on fuel with usable back seats and a big boot. It’s ace.

Honda related content will continue soon, promise.

May I pick your brains please.

This thread was my inspiration for a big brake upgrade on my EP3. I’ve just purchased a freaky parts Megane MKIII Brembo brake kit (second hand, but relatively new) I’m running the OEM wheels and told I need 17mm spacers, which are a lot…

Did you run the big brake kit with the original wheels by any chance? Just wondering if the spacers made the car handle any worse? As someone that knows your stuff with these cars, could I ask what your thoughts are? Would you say new wheels with the larger offset are a must, or OEM (my preferred option aesthetically) are usable. Appreciate any thought you have.

Happy to help.

I didn’t run the OEM wheels, I expected there to be an issue with them and larger brakes.

17mm spacers do sound massive. I don’t know if I would feel comfortable running those myself. I assume you’d need some bolt on ones?

Personally I’d change the wheels, my TD pro race 1.2 fit (just) with a 5mm spacer.

Hope you get it sorted, the upgrade is worth it!

Appreciate your thoughts.

Time to start researching new wheels then. Ideally as OEM as possible. Wonder if DC5 wheels are the answer…

DC5 wheels could work. I think they’re like 41 offset vs the EP3 55!

I think you’ll still need a 5mm spacer possibly but they would look good and give you the clearance.

You could also look at the popular Evo 8 Enkei, they’re 38 offset (I think!)
