It's all their fault!
The road/track car came up for sale last year and got me thinking.....

Stuart and Simon are well aware and very encouraging! I am renting their bumper moulds..

Absolutely fking ridiculous. A total waste of money.

Great work thumbup

On a serious note: yes it was a tidy road car. Sell the parts you remove, at 'mates rates' if need be. Then you'll be helping to keep others roadworthy and the whole project is worth while for a number of reasons.

Also, as for DEBRA - good man.

Superb... Heard the rumble from this when arriving at a PH meet last month, looked in my rear view mirror and saw a smart looking Bentley; assumed the rumble was from something behind that... err, no... thought you looked a bit short sat in the driver's seat too, found out why when I peeked inside smile

It does almost pain me to see this being stripped down, but as has been mentioned, if the the parts can be sold on to keep others going well and looking good, all the better.

I look forward to following this one thumbup

Fantastic, can't wait to see the results....
Crikey is the car a diesel? Red line at 4,500rpm???? Hope you're going to increase that!
Any clues on the before and after weight projections?
Good luck, keep us posted

A Merlin is a no brainer for the sound surely?

The Meteor was a tank based version of the Merlin, so essentially it is a Merlin but with no supercharger. It'd sound epic, either way!

cant see this doing anything other than handling like a barge on track with out serious weight saving and a lot of money being spent.... what is the suspension like? what are the brakes like?

I think you missed the point?

It's been done 'just because' not to be the be all and end all of track day gear.

I applaud the OP for doing it!

Great idea, particularly interested in the weight loss for some reason. Did you weigh it first?

Hmmmm.
Doncha just lurrrvve PH?

Have you ever driven a Turbo R? The "R" means roadholding - and so it should with 1 1/4" anti roll bars. Brakes? Two, yes two calipers to each front wheel with a Citroen full power system.
Why am I bothering justifying this to you? Go drive one, then get back to me.

Now, having got that off my chest! Thanks for all the +ve comments. Sparco steering wheel arrived today - from Latvia! Well, only £33 with the g/change buttons and Alcantara and Leather... mmmm. Has BMW boss if anyone is interested!
More anon.

Great work - ignore the conservatives; they have never lived, they just try to preserve the status quo and no progress would ever have occurred if people like that were left to rule the world...biggrin

Sorry to hear about your wife, but a good way to bring some attention to EB.
