You can't compare welding new engine mounts with cutting fking holes in the chassis and crash structure you 'scene' bellends.
Are classic and vintage cars ok, 'cos they won't perform well in an accident either. So, someone drops a BMW V8 into an E30 and completely changes the vehicles crash pulse = PH OK.
"Scene bellend" (Unnecessary) notches his Mk5 = PH Not OK.
Double standards at work here, I think the scene is more reviled, than the specific vehicle modification on this thread TBH.
I think seeing all the frothing mouths, the V-Dubbers are having the last laugh

Not really. Just some simple logic.
Due to years of bodge jobs (most notably the bloke with the Land Rover), things like IVA have been introduced to attempt to ensure that some rigour is imposed on the safety of modifications to a cars monocoque.
From the Edition38 website (First Google Hit).
Your car WILL need an IVA if you:
•C notch the chassis legs for driveshaft clearance
•Raise the strut tops
•Modify the floor or bulkhead
•Chop the roof off/convert to a pickup
•Cut the outer arch lip for tyre clearance/to fit a wide arch kit, as this is classed as a structural area
•Modify any part of the monocoque
You can debate all day on the sanity of the rules, but they are the rules.
Now I am all for well executed (primarily functional) mods like engine swaps and the like, but cutting bits from the vehicle structure just so it will look broken when parked is just idiotic. More importantly, unless backed up by a valid IVA, illegal and would cause grief if spotted by an insurance assessor in the event of something unfortunate happening.
If the new scene was to stick their fingers in the fire would you? (Thanks Mum )
ETA.
Look at the other MkV thread on here, Focussed on making the car better and looks great as a result.

If you sell this car will you put it back to standard?
If so I pity the poor fker when he's got the wheel off doing the brakes and they see the chassis chopped.
i'd imagine that anyone looking to buy a modified car and in the DUB scene would actually find the presence of such a mod a bonus if they were looking to do the same sort of mods.If so I pity the poor fker when he's got the wheel off doing the brakes and they see the chassis chopped.
Nice car, quite like it. Purple puddle lights are a cool touch.
I would like to point out that I'm not insulting the OP - he's probably a nice chap, I just wanted to point out the potential problems with this approach to modding.
Others here raise valid points about engine swaps and other mods. Audi designed the 100 so that in the event of a frontal accident, the engine is pulled under the car, so the occupants legs aren't squashed. Changing the engine may affect this function.
And as I said before, and I'll repeat - just because someone else does a mod, whatever that mod is, whatever the circumstance, doesn't make this mod any more safe.
You are here on a public forum, showing off your car, so we're entitled to respond (politely) and highlight potential problems.
No doubt the car will go to the scrap yard without an issue, but it's worth pointing out as anyone who embarks on this should be fully informed about the downsides

The car will be sold either as a package or as standard and as with all my adverts I will be completely honest with everything that has been done with the car including chassis mods. If so I pity the poor fker when he's got the wheel off doing the brakes and they see the chassis chopped.

Me, having a laugh....?Not at all....
Keep up the good work Sir
Oh and by the way I am 48 next so don't judge all of us that are a little older with the sanctimonious S you get on here.
It's just funny that's all.
I don't judge people across the board, take everyone on their own merit
Infact some older people can be a right laugh!
Have a good'un!!
Here's me and Rich going for a lovely run up the strip at Santa Pod a little while back.
If I spent even half the money I've spent on doing what I WANTED to do, on making it "faster" (it already does 140 quite happily on my mates driveway [he has a very big driveway]) and that's not even with the Stage 2 mapping yet) then I would be at around 450-500bhp and KW V3s, LSD, polybush etc. I've build a performance Mk5 before and I wanted to do something different. Heaven forbid what I do doesn't appeal to someone on PISTONHEADS oh my goodness gracious me I'm going to CRY.
But for what I do which is pootle around seeing my friends and going to work and back, with the shows and what not then what I've built my car to do is perfect for me!!
Why don't you go over to Richard's thread and lick his bum if you like his car so much! He might even like that

Funny that! Why waste my time looking at it on the internet, when I can just go in it?Look at the other MkV thread on here, Focussed on making the car better and looks great as a result.

Glad I don't bother with the VW scene the only thing people seem to do is slam a car and change the wheels maybe fit an interior from a nicer model and that's it. Just no innovation at all go to shows and all the cars are basically the same everything that wins seems to be a brand new audi/vw in poverty spec with air suspension some stupidly expensive wheels and the seats out an RS4 trimmed in a stupid colour.
This seems a nice enough car if into that but the chassis notch seems a bit silly to me and as other have said it techincally need an IVA test... however it would be nice to have seen you maybe do something different and make it more track biased or whatever instead of just being a sheep. Also I have driven a couple of cars on air suspension and for me they do not handle as well as a decent set of coilovers.
