Nice to see a Golf that hasn't been barried to oblivion. Lol at the "only 13.5 second 1/4 mile", I suppose the compromise for being so slow is being able to handle well, this will be a much better drive on the road than any of those air ride stboxes.
That incidently is how fast a stock Ferrari F40 does 1/4 mile too.....
Not its not.

Do I need a woosh? hehe

You clearly have no idea how air ride works!
I understand precisely how air ride works. However cars with air ride are hugely outnumbered by cars that are slammed by using the 'lowest' coilovers money can buy (which often correlates to the cheapest) winding the adjusters all the way down and taking out the helper springs.

If I were to lower my car in pursuit of improved handling, I don't think a bootful of compressor, battery and air tank would be the way to do it!

That enough talk of air ride.... starting to make me nauseous. :-)

Exhaust porn. 304 stainless. 3" all the way back to the tips. Probably the best flowing exhaust available for these cars.

Got these to go on to give the front a bit of camber. Should get 1.5º i think maybe a touch more.

Are you running the Whiteline ALK? If so, is it worth a go? I've been thinking about fitting it to my Leon.

Yes. If you are going to, get the Superpro version instead. Better quality bushes. Reduces wheel hop and improves steering feel

Go for the complete bushes/consoles

http://www.awesomegti.com/superpro-anti-lift-kit-m...

Give AKS tuning a buzz, he will probably be cheapest.

Well done Rich, you avoided the temptation to ruin your car!

Looks really nice, that exhaust looks super stealthy.

This one?

Assuming they're the same it's slightly cheaper from Awesome.

Was it AKS that did the exhaust and rear floorpan work on that mental black AWD, 400-odd-whp Leon TFSI sleeper? If so, they did a cracking job.

Hey Rich,

I love your exhaust. Could I ask if you could give us more details (Make etc)? An exhaust is on my shopping list and I'd love one that looks as stealthy & beefy as yours.

Faz

p.s. are you Richwig on the mk5golfgti forum?

I think air-ride might chop a second off of this, and 30 chassis notches would reduce the weight massively. Looking at 3.5 0-60 at least!? Almost as fast as a 335d, mapped.

hehe

Are you talking 'junior supercars' numbers there?

Edited to add: Nice car O/P and nice mods.
