£1500 red Mazda rx8 what could go wrong?
Discussion
Hi all,
Thought I would update on my third car after I have been driving just after a year.
First car was an Alfa Romeo 147 1.6 TI in red
Second car was an 08 white Alfa Romeo spider 2.2 le
Unfortunately I had to sell the alfa to fund other things
So I had 1500 quid to buy myself a car, and I know the history and problems of the rx8 but just couldn't resist
80,000 miles
12 months mot
3 months tax
3 month warranty
Full black and red leather
Will upload some more pics when I get chance !

There is a "top up NOW" oil level warning light as well as a "you are currently fking your engine" oil pressure light, but better not to let either happen.
Does it start easily if you get it hot and then turn the engine off for a couple of minutes?
It always starts (touch wood) within 2/3 seconds and then sounds healthy instantly even after a spirited drive. Does it start easily if you get it hot and then turn the engine off for a couple of minutes?
Fingers crossed ey !

just keep checking the oil ALL the time and you might be alright.
Total bks. Every 2nd tank of fuel is recommended, ie about every 400-500miles. We used to check it once a month, hardly onerous. (and worth mentioning that it uses less oil than say an M3 or 911 and if a 320d used the same amount it would still be within spec...)

This was my experience too. Great car, kept mine for 3 years. During the time I owned it, many people told me all about what was wrong with them (none of them having owned one of course).Every 2nd tank of fuel is recommended, ie about every 400-500miles. Ah, I was going from a "take it somewhere to be fixed" POV.
If of course it's user error and you're not claiming then a pair of doors and a bumper + airbags. Plus roof lining maybe (not sure how 'cleanly' the curtain airbag deploys. Certainly other ones will "burst" out and ruin the panel they're behind.
I'd be somewhat concerned about chassis damage given the sill looks somewhat the worse for wear and cant tell see if there is any roof damage..

And airbags and all related systems?
They are the curtain airbags in the pic aren't they?
Yes. They are the curtain airbags in the pic aren't they?
Possibly new seats also, IIRC they had airbags in also, can't see if they've deployed though.
Plus might need new seat belt pre-tensioners.
