My new Clio V6 mk2 - "project investment"

I predict that as the economy recovers and the arse drops out of the classic car market, these will be one of the cars hardest hit (plenty around with low miles and not really old enough to warrant the money they are currently doing, also Renault isn't a particularly well regarded marque).
There aren't plenty around are there? There's usually only ever 1 for sale at any time in the classifieds (I haven't checked today so sod's law there's 5) I've been wanting a gold one for 6 months and the first one came up a few weeks ago (by which time I'd talked myself out of it)BJG1 said:

It is only in the last year or so that they have really started to pick up and prices for both the Phase 1 and Phase 2 are now reasonably above where they have been for a while. I don't see the prices skyrocketing, but I certainly don't see prices going down. I got comfortably more for mine when I sold mine last week than I was asking (and didn't receive) this time last year.
OP make the most of the car. I had mine for 2 years, drove it nearly every day and it put a smile on my face every single time i got in it. I sold it last week. Regret it now and probably will for quite a while. They are absolutely fantastic and anybody thinking of getting one, just do it.

Also, you say as the economy recovers and car prices fall but thats illogical!
During the recession wealthy people have been investing in the classic car market. It's in a boom with lots of cars gaining value at a ridiculous rate. I'm predicting a crash when people decide they want to put their money to use elsewhere. I think this will mainly be the top end stuff but there will be a ripple effect. For me the Clio V6 is an example of a car thats price is over inflated recently (weren't they about 7-8k a few years back?). I don't think it's particularly safe bet as an investment, like I said before, too new, too many available and no real cache behind the brand. It also has no Motorsport heritage. I've had a quick look on Auto Trader, Pistonheads and Gumtree. I count 16 for sale at the moment. That's a lot.
I'm not knocking the car, I think they are awesome and i'd love one, just not convinced it's an investment.
Dont get me wrong, im not expecting it to rocket in price and be rolling in it.
However if I can keep it for say 5 years, and in that time it doesnt loose any money id be over the moon.
Better than buying something like another 370Z for £16,000 that costs more to run and insure (tax is about £500 a year) and then in 5 years be worth £5,000
