Not really that much in mileage to be fair, I don't put my exact location onto my profile, I just use my hometown. I'm currently based in Kent.I couldn't help much with the re-map either to be fair, I pay other people to do the technical things, I just change parts and fit new things.

Before you refurb the wheels, check they are genuine, they look very like reps to me!

Another £500 to £700 for a set of the originals???... Not sure if I can be bothered, as most wouldn't have a clue! Just wish I had a pic of the car when new, to have an idea. The original build-spec of the car when new from BMW (above in this thread) doesn't actually give the type - S786A Action pack for 17" wheels.

If I provide the manifold and conversion kit - and you could point me in the right direction for the induction kit. I'll come to yours, give you a hand, pay you for your time, sleep in the car - already spent one night in it at the side of the M5 after a blow-out with no spare or road-side assistance... IDIOT!!! - and cook a really mean Sunday lunch to-boot! Would still save me a couple of hundred quid...

If you're expecting top money for this when you sell it, id expect most people to know what they are looking for lol. I mean, it was pretty obvious to me from one picture, the offset/dish is all wrong!! Cant imagine genuines to be anywhere near that amount of money, more £3-400 on ebay/bmwowner, etc.RickBristol said:

Sounds interesting... Southampton is a lot closer than Norfolk, and a lot less petrol too! Just have to negotiate that horrible road with all the trucks getting down to you. I hear what you're saying, just that finding - and paying for - a set of genuine motorsport wheels is something that will be further down the list of things I need to get done on the car right now...After changing the manifold and a remap, the next job will be the rear shocks, then refurbing the driver's seat...
Day 8 at the body shop...
The remaining parts have now been prepped and are ready to go into the spray booth.
It will then take around another day the get it all put back together and make sure that everything is working, before I can collect the car.
Can't wait to finally see the finished article!

1) split open key, put new EWS chip in
2) remove glovebox (4-6 bolts or so), fit new EWS module (worst part of the job)
3) open ECU compartment in engine bay (passenger side, behind fusebox), pull out old ECU, new one goes in
I reckon it'd take 4 hours max to do the M50 conversion, providing you get the decent pipework kit (I can source one for you at cost price- £65ish). The kit includes the throttle body plate (provides a strong seal between manifold/throttle body), all pipework and jubilee clips. I've used it before, and it's really good. I had to bodge mine originally! The ECU replacement takes about half an hour.
My old ECU will be free once I've got my M3 cams and have sent the car off to be mapped on its old, unadulterated ECU.

You can get real m3 wheels for £300 tops! My mate just sold he's mint set for £300. Reps go for around £150. I just sold mine for that.
