There was a red 458 Challenge at my last track day at Bedford at the end of July, complete with lorry and support team.
yup was quick in the corners but slow on the straights. no wonder given the size of the baffles he was running. must have been a real nightmare for the engine

Back in the country literally 24 hours... nothing better than getting stuck in about it eh?

Aero kit starting to go on, all looks pretty straightforward but it will need longer brake cooling ducts.

All looks very tidy indeed, paintwork is average at best but I guess that's what to expect given its likely to be rubbing doors at some point :-)

Thinking of painting it white with green bits to match the old M3 colourscheme....

Am itching to get out Wednesday evening!!

From a quick look at your profile, were you in the Viper?

Personally I love it In Yellow.

Filming wise it would be great to have a front and rear camera and the mic.next to the engine/exhaust. nutscloud9

You sir are a legend!! After having spent the afternoon with my close mates spanking a 430 challenge round a track, we all agreed as a track day weapon these challenge cars are impossible to beat. Since then I've spent many an afternoon on various race car dealer websites looking at precisely these!

Enjoy!! Can't wait to read updates!

Good god, 50s around Knockhill would be bonkers! From memory the lap record is 46-47s I think, set by an F3 or F3000 car.

When the 458 first came out I didn't think they would look as pretty when in racing/challenge car guise, but yours is just achingly beautiful. What a machine!
Andy Forrest unofficially broke the lap record for a tintop on a track night last week, 49.7 seconds. I was trackside and it looked and sounded absolutely insane! Something to aim for?!

A quick google shows that when British GTs last ran at Knockhill in 2010, the Predator CCTV Ferrari 430 Scuderia had a pole time of 49.03s. And that's in a car with probably 500bhp less than Andy Forrest!

+10 for the Banana man theme previously stated.

Surely a vinyl company could print out up some pictures.

Damn, I was going to go to the track night tomorrow but wasn't sure if the car would be running ok for it so didn't book. As it turns out, it is running ok (well, sort of) so I think a little trip up for an hour to spectate could be in order.

What would I have to do for a passenger ride? I promise I won't soil the seat laugh

It's Gobstopper II I think, a heavily modified Impreza:
