Well the X5 was not selling and a chap proposed a swap for a 2008 Octavia VRS. Worth a shout I thought.
I've used it for two days (600 miles) and it's passed my initial test. Nice noise, very pleasant turn of seed (loads of torque steer though), fairly well equipped. I can see bits of cost cutting here and there, but I think I might keep it a while.
Fuel Consumption today was 39.4 mpg. Not bad for a fast 2.0 Petrol.

That mpg is pretty impressive considering its size and power! Only seen that out of my GTI a couple of times.
I have a Mk. 1 VRs, with a few small mods (remap, filter, Forge dump-valve, stainless exhaust). She goes like a rocket when I want her to, but when motorway cruising at an indicated 65/70 mph, she returns 45mpg!
Great cars.
