Its the forgotten taxi, looks more like a squashed Ford Granada mk2 to me.

Do you have a family or plan to do something whacky with the abundance of rear room?
Single mate. Living the dream.

Would have a missus, but got a Jag 4.2 v8 to feed with fuel!

The Wikipedia page for the metrocab is a bit bare. Nows your chance to fill it out with extensive Metrocab knowledge...or at least get your pic of your cab on the page.

I like it.

How shagged is it after 910K, and what is it like to drive?

Love it! What engines do these use?
Dependant on age either a 2.4 Toyota or a Transit 2.5, a pal and I double tracked one back in Manchester for 7 years as we couldn't afford an FX4 ours was an E reg as well. We put 400,000 on it in 7 years in my opinion a far better vehicle than the competition and very underated as a cab.

You ridiculous idiot, this is Pistonheads - of COURSE we're all interested! Get some more pics up! I love it!

Reminds me of a couple of black-cab experiences I have had over the years.

First one - in the late 70's when I was 7, 8 years old - a mate at school's Dad had loads of kids, and at the time there were no 'People Mover' vehicles available...so he bought an ex Black Cab to ferry the family about it. I have many good memories of being driven to school in it!

Then 10 or 15 years ago, a chap at a local garage had a highly-modified TX 1 dragster....it was awesome, fully tubbed back-end, monster tyres, huge V8 with a supercharger sticking up out of the bonnet. Mad!

Fine,just been out in it

Steering feel a little 'vague', but i'm not sure how good it should be!

Whatever you do, you owe it the chance to reach 1,000,000 miles. It would be heartbroken if it fell short. Probably.
I'm glad it wasn't just me who immediately thought that hehe

Had a ride in one of these last night (R reg I think) and although being much smaller than the usual black cabs I couldn't get over how quiet / well they rode, really impressed.

Great purchase!
