Ford Saphire Cosworth ('88)
Discussion
I'm on holiday on Cornwall just now and drove past this dealer this afternoon and was tempted to stop when I saw this...

Very nice to see these relatively standard, clean examples. I never thought this model suited modifications.
Looks better in the photos, 23 years old and 112 k now, not up to your standards i'm afraid.I must get round to sourcing some original headlights and washers (shame that they don't light up very much). It is starting to get difficult to find decent tyres for the original 15" wheels, uaually get blank looks followed by 'why do you want that speed rating on such small wheels'?
I know what happened to my crystal blue sapphire, I rolled it on a revs fossils track day and reshelled it from my own pocket to better than be standard, when I came to sell it it Was worthless as apparently all re shelled cars were stollen blah blah blah so I broke it for parts, still have a lot of the parts though lol

They're already too rich for me tbh. Plus I have become accustomed to Air Conditioning
That was a -rare - option but unfortunately many people removed it. Not sure why...I had a crystal blue which I sold onto a trader about a year ago, it has been taxed, but no longer, let's hope shes being restored. She's E211SFX.
The other I had, flintstone grey, 4x4, J618WOO, still on the road by the looks of things, sold to a young RSOC member who brought her back to life.
I've had a lot of fun in these two

Anorak time again, was the 4x4 an ex Ford Press fleet car? May well have had a metal disc on the chassis plate saying 'no manufactures warrantee'.
I've been asked many times, something to do with WOO ? As far as I know it wasn't no, but I never checked for a metal disc. Maybe the new owner can.LanceRS said:
That looks a nice one Lance - you've kept it a fair while. The white low mileage one at the Cornish garage looks lovely too. I dare say it will be in demand one day, even at 20k plus as the prices have started rising now, a bit behind the same age M3s ...but they were cheap too not so long ago

Yep - it's the original Roger Dowson prepped Hales & Borgudd winning car, In '89 it was a 25 hour event to celebrate the anniversary of Roger William's company. Hales was also the overall class A champion in Prod Saloons that year.
