All lovely motors - but I still think the standard 15" alloys, ambers, simple non vented bonnet and red top engine is where the sens
Yes a standard car is nice BUT a Cosworth is meant to go fast so must stop. 17" wheels are a must for decent brakes as is vents in the bonnet for heat dispersal. I agree about the ambers though.

Just taken mine out for a drive, no where in particular, just because I could. Still an event, still puts a smile on my face after all these years and still drawing attention from passers by.

Funnily enough, I looked at E30 M3s before I bought mine. Decided against it as they just did not have enough power. Shame there is such a difference in value now.

Hope nobody minds the slight "off topic" smile We're both good Rod, we discovered 4x4s and the slow lane, both sierras were eventually sold. Bought a range rover sport supercharged two years ago because I needed to rediscover 0-60 I less than 8s, and have recently treated myself to a Cerbera. Also both been busy with work, so forums, shows, etc... took a back seat.

This is my old late J reg Moondust Silver 4x4, this colour was a limited run towards the end of their life.
It also had the rare aircon option.

I think this is the one that I viewed when I was looking for a Sapphire back in late 2006. I bought a flint grey 2 wheel drive one in the end and sold that 4 years ago.

Yes it had both of those too.
The only mods it had were stage 1, Mongoose exhaust, silver Roose water and boost hoses, lowered suspension (I can't remember what is was now) and the rest was as intended smile

The headlamp wipers had been removed at the time of the photos as I was replacing them

Silly question, are you sure that it was lowered? In the photos it does not look any lower than mine. I've got standard ride height LEDA springs (only way I can even hope to get the exhaust to clear anything).

Had a couple of days off work this week and I've enjoyed using it as my daily again. I'd almost forgotten how usable it is (still terrified to leave it parked out of my sight though).

Is there anyone else on here still using one?

I'm looking to replace my Capri with a Sierra Cosworth next year. Has anyone owned both a 3 door and an early Sapphire? Apart from the desirability and price difference the 3 doors command, is there really that much difference between them?
