Lovely colour and some nice design touches. Ford seemed to make much more of an effort on the later cars.

Hi Matt I appreciate your words. It means a lot to me. I think a lot of people have forgot there is still a war.

Please post a pic of your stang. Im on the wall about the bama tune. I've heard good and bad things. I don't know whether im going to do the na route or supercharge it. Exterior and interior are my first priorities. As I mentioned I want to keep it looking as factory styled as possible

There are far too many mustangs that have been made to look like crap.
Here you go…. hopefully not looking like crap.

I like it. It's tastefully done. Looks are subjective. I just hate seeing muscle cars on 24" rims or matt black hoods/bonnets, smoked out headlights and tailights. I see so many mustang posts on instagram that make me cringe.

Was the auto choice?

Do you know if the leather door inserts where the pony emblem sits are easy to remove? I prefer the premium door inserts much more than the base gt. Do you use the ambient lighting much as I read it causes a lot of windshield glare?

From my research the track pack includes:

Boss 302 radiator
Boss 302 oil cooler
Larger front brembo rotors
Front Brembo calipers
Front and rear Brembo pads
Brembo wheels 19x9
3:73 Gears
Retuned traction and stability control
Boss 302 Torsen diff
Revalved shocks/struts
Larger sway bar and some other suspension components. It's hard to find the definative list online, even Ford do not list everything included.

Auto was by choice - though the auto transmission on these cars is piss-poor without some modification. I was at the point of installing a shift kit (horrible job) when someone on here suggested uploading Bama SCT and that more or less fixed it for me.

My wife drives this car a lot more than I do (I travel a lot with work) and she prefers automatic - don't know why, she always drove manual in UK - shifting with her right hand freaks her out for some bizarre reason. That said, I do dabble a bit with production class drag racing at Orlando Speed World and auto has some advantages in that regard. My car consistently runs high 11 quarters with my lighter and faster reacting daughter doing the peddling, egg-cup full of gas and Nitto semi-slick radials. Before the SCT upgrade and tires we were mid/high 12's.

The door cards come off just the same as the base ones - and no, I don't alter the disco lighting - whenever I have done, my wife immediately swaps it back and I don't want to cause an international incident, so I leave well alone now.

I've added a Boss 302 front brace and Hotchkiss poly-rear bushes which made a big and positive difference on the road (and track to a lesser extent).
I also bought a Ford Racing big brake upgrade from American Muscle, but it requires 19" wheels, so I'm holding off on that until I've burned the tires that are on my 18's. I can't stomach binning 4 hardly worn Bridgestone Potenzas.

I have a new Challenger on order, so this car may well be chopped-in around Thanksgiving - but I've really enjoyed owning it, despite not really being all that enthused at the prospect of a Mustang.

If you keep an eye on ebay or craigslist you can sometimes find thr brembo wheels cheap. Theres a guy near me listing a set for $600. A lot of the wheels that american muscle sell are cheap chinese crap like the drift wheels, saleen replicas. The tsw valencias in silver look great on a mustang.

Which challenger do you have on order? Please tell me your a fan of the vanishing point? Id love a white srt challenger. There nice inside and BIG, the interior styling is a bit too professional and business like for me.

Interesting indeed - paying it forward to the country that adopted him - very, very honorable and commanding of respect.
My daughter is similar - Orange County Sheriffs Deputy, Field Training Officer, Tactical Firearms Specialist, Honor Guard. Driven and motivated young people should inspire us all.

I noticed the fraternity of police decal on your stang. I was in Greater Manchester Police for 2 years prior to coming to the states (not sure if I had mentioned it above).

Your daughter definately has something to be proud of. I'm going to teach my daughter marksmanship skills when Im back from Afghanistan.

She'd never fired more than a paintball gun prior to us moving here (She was 19 and training at Hendon to go into the Met, when we left UK). She is now considered one of the most proficient shooters in the agency. Just a natural, I guess.

Welcome home - and thanks again, for your service.
Allow me to suggest just a couple of simple mods based on your under-hood shot.

Install an oil separator in the pass side PCV tube. This will stop vaporized oil from the crankcase ending up in your intake (which is a particularly crappy emissions solution by Ford).

Replace the factory air box and intake tube with a good quality more free-flowing CAI.

Junk the crap "sound-tube" the long black tube that runs back from the intake (next to the MAF sensor) around the side of the motor and into the drivers side bulkhead. All it's doing is intentionally diverting intake noise into the passenger cabin. It serves no other purpose and if you like intake roar, you'll get plenty from the CAI anyway.

The mods for these cars are pretty much endless. Hope you are enjoying it!

Thanks. In the future I may get a cai if I do not go the supercharged route, the problem is if I buy a cai I need an sct tuner.

I've seen the jlt separator on american muscle. Its on the list.

I really like the idea of the sound tube. I removed one of the two baffles expecting to get a louder intake sound like I have read online but I did not notice any difference.

One tank so far and ive managed 18 us mpg on midgrade. Thats 70/30 city/hwy driving.
