Thanks. In the future I may get a cai if I do not go the supercharged route, the problem is if I buy a cai I need an sct tuner.
I've seen the jlt separator on american muscle. Its on the list.
I really like the idea of the sound tube. I removed one of the two baffles expecting to get a louder intake sound like I have read online but I did not notice any difference.
One tank so far and ive managed 18 us mpg on midgrade. Thats 70/30 city/hwy driving.
You don't HAVE to install a flash tune to use a more efficient CAI, but you may need to install a restrictor to moderate the mass air flow (and prevent a lean condition that the knock sensors can't compensate for) - but restricting flow in a performance intake kind of defeats it's real purpose.I've seen the jlt separator on american muscle. I believe you also sacrifice between 15-20 engine hp by not using premium (93) gasoline.
At the beginning of this week I removed the stock chin splitter to modify it, so I can mount a new roush chin splitter. The roush splitter is more aggressive and is supposed to produce more down force.
Well the mounting hardware was missing from the box, I called latemodelrestoration who called Roush Performance. A few days later I received the hardware and mounted the splitter. I took it to the next level and fitted APR splitter support rods.
I took the mustang out today on the mountain roads and ended up following 3 911's and a lotus elise. I am highly impressed by the speed and handling of the mustang. It felt really planted. The driving experience is highly rewarding.

Mustang looks great, I like that blue on it.
Good to hear you're home safe and sound.
I'm in the British army and have done 4 tours of Afghanistan (most recently Jan to June this year) so know how you feel, buying cars and parts but not being able to play. Don't think my wife ever understood why she had to take pictures of every delivery for me to see .
I love the states and I have family in Jacksonville, Florida. Coming over in December for 3 weeks over Christmas and new year with the kids, can't wait!
We'd love to emigrate but getting a green card is a nightmare. The family I have there are not one direct relation (uncle and grandmother) so can't sponsor me. Neither me or my wife have a degree which doesn't help either.

Thanks mate.
Mind me asking what you do in the Army? I was very close to joining Reme in 04.
4 Tours would drive me insane. I came back from this tour with grey hairs. I was on KAF so could have been much worse.
I think my next tour I won't buy a lot of parts as it was non stop doing this and that when I got back. I think I'll get a supercharger and that's it with my deployment money.
I really enjoyed being about the British Army and Raf during my time over there.
I've only been to Florida a few times for short periods. I like it on the Gulf Coast, but it gets way too hot and I will never live in the bible belt again.
So this week I bought a 2015 Honda PCX 150 scooter. Yes a scooter. I want to save driving the mustang for the weekends and commute on the scooter. Last tank I got was 21mpg us, so that's around 25 UK mpg. Not bad for 420bhp.
I went for a ride this morning and I'm getting around 120 UK MPG. That is insane.

Love the car mate, i'm looking at getting heat extractors on mine as the supercharger does generate a lot of heat. I think looking at yours has sealed it for me and i'm going to go for a matte black finish instead of body colour. I don't envy you guys going out to Afghanistan, i'm in the Navy and i'm looking down the barrel of my 3rd Gulf tour next year. Fills me with dread everytime... but that's mainly down to not being able to get a beer ashore anywhere during Ramadan

I'm a REME aircraft technician currently on the Apache helicopter (although I'm trying to move to the new wildcat). I Joined in 2005 and I'm now a supervisor, looking at picking up my Sgt next year.Mind me asking what you do in the Army? I was very close to joining Reme in 04.

Yes the tours suck immensely. We do about 5 months at a time. My first was in KAF and the other 3 have been at bastion.

Effectively yes; it's a Navy Lynx mk8 (the army uses the mk7 and mk9A) with a slightly different body, bigger engines (from the mk9A), glass cockpit and a new sighting system on the front.
I enjoyed working with your guys when I was on tour. Had to help out inspecting the engines on the Pedro Black hawks at one point as they had no one trained to do it in BSN.
Also couldn't beat the PX for my beef jerky supply. That st got me through some long nights!

How do you mean under wheeled mate?
Thanks for the compliments.
So I tried to drive the mustang to work this morning through snow, I made it down to the end of my street and I couldn't make it up the hill with or without tc.
My p zero tires are summer performance and are pretty low so they will be replaced soon.
I'm having difficultly deciding to just get 19x10 replicas of the current track pack wheels and have them all power coated alien silver or swap them for mmd axis or gt500 rims.
I've just read the thread on the s550 mustang available in the UK, that is great news, even though it's not to my tastes, it is a performance bargain, with a ridiculous aftermarket.
A worthy successor to the capri.
