S320 CDI gentle restoration W220

Wow...what an amazing thread.

I'm thinking of getting a late w220 S320 cdi...anyone else thinking the same.

I need a luxor bargain barge...the prices of good ones seem to be on the rise!

Massive thread revival on my part but I'm considering one of these as my next car, albeit one from 2003 onwards that has been galvanised. I'm fairly handy with spanners so not afraid of getting my hands dirty, don't have a STAR computer though. Overall, are these as great a car as they seem? Is the Audi better? Currently running a CLK270 which I like but would like even more waft...

I ended up buying a low mileage example in black....when clean....it still turns heads!

The Audi was different. I loved them both. Unfortunately some stupid bh who wasn't watching the road took the A6 away from me.



I was stationary, she hit me so hard that I hit the car in front.



Anyway, the 220 is just a massive CLK. the suspension is very similar other than the airmatic. The engines can be exactly the same depending which one you have and the auto box is identical. I love them and possibly see another one in my future.
