A one off post here, showing mine and the wife's fleet all together for the first and last time.

Over the weekend I part with my MR2 that I have had for the last 13 years. Sounds a bit sad and too be honest it is, but I just don't use it anywhere near enough. It will be gone but not forgotten.

All the best

Mrs spudgun's daily drive

The wife's summer car, the 205 CTi

The x-type

My Type R

And last but not least, the old MR2.

Unless there is something terminally wrong with the MR2, surely that is the last of those cars to sell?

Love the X type. Which engine is it? Can't believe how loud the diesel ones are!

Nice fleet! Type R looks familiar, are you near Plymouth?

The '2 is in very good shape with nothing wrong with it at all. The problem is I have only done about 600 miles in it in the last 2 years and I have run out of space. I have been waiting years and years for the price to start going up but there never seems to be any movement on that front. I will still see the car as I'm selling to someone I know and I'm hoping that it will get the care it deserves.

The x-type is 2.5 petrol. It is without doubt the most versatile car I have ever owned. Great on long distances but the AWD means it was good during the winter months on the slippery stuff as well. I would go anywhere in that car. The plan was to get rid of that but I would miss that terribly if I didn't have it, and its only worth ten pence.

Cheers for the positive comment. Not near Plymouth, No but in the South West. I haven't had it that long and haven't ventured down that part of the world in it yet.

Nice little fleet. How does the mpg stack up on the X-Type?

Not the best of fuel as you can imagine. Short journey work, 5 miles to work and back again, in winter around 20 mpg. On a run to the highlands I got 36 mpg. Around 30 though with mixed driving.

Well matbe a bit more, but you know what I mean. I went to an x-type gathering at RAF Cosford back in early summer. THe diesel's out numbered the petrols 10:1. I was surprised that it was that heavily biased.

On a sader note, the MR2 has gone frown

They do seem to be frowned upon a bit, but I guess that makes them a bit of a bargin. Insurance is cheap but tax and petrol not so.

Told my Missus I'd quite like a 2.5, and they have 4wd....she said not a chance, they're a Grandad car !! Wouldn't mind, but I am a Grandad...D'oh.

I can understand that view point, kind of. I have the Civic to compensate for the old man image.

Not yet Kate. I think it may hit home next spring when show season starts but this time of year it was just something to work around. I did find it surprisingly easy watching it drive off as well.

I don't use mine enough but the thought of letting it go to a new home is just too much to bear.
