Well after a quick scan of ebay i've managed to end up winning a mazda mx6 for the pricely sum of £260. Ill be using it as a work hack mainly but hoping to make it a nice clean Oem example, the total opposite of my e36 smile

Going to collect it on monday, if anyone has any tips or things to look out for please tell me smile

That looks in great shape for £260. Are there any major problems with it?

The ebay description says 'no known faults' but ill be the judge of that... I dont mind getting my hands dirty if a few things need doing though smile Caramel leather interior is a highlight of the car...

The only thing I think I know about these is the engine can be a bit "ticky" on start up. Which is to do with the hydraulic tappets (or HLAs) and not a real problem in terms of the car running.

Great buy for a running car, I owned one of these for a couple years . Loved it , went camping and it was great as the boots massive with the seats folded down. Lovely engine too.

I had one of these for about a year, and I'd love another one if I could find one locally!

It was a very comfy car to be in, if a little basic, but I really liked it. Mine was a bit tatty throughout but was mechanically good, and only came to an untimely end when I unwittingly dropped a small washer into the block when changing the rocker cover gaskets. Not that I knew this until I started the engine and heard the horrible clunking / grinding noises though.

Do you know if it's a UK or Japanese model? IIRC the Japanese models had a few more horses under the bonnet than their UK counterparts.

I'm liking all these positive reviews. A black one used to live at the end of our road when i was a little kid, always thought it was a supercar or something. Always wanted one since then smile

Found a picture of my old one (excuse the iffy filter on it!), the picture doesn't really do it's tattiness any justice though! Silver door handle, scratches all over, drivers seat bolster ripped and spilling foam, and I think it had some rust in key areas, but I loved it for the short time I had it and I don't recall any issues with it other than a leaking rocker cover gasket.

They only came with 2.5 V6's IIRC, same powerplant used in the Ford Probe as they were both (as well as the Mazda 323 I think) based on the same platform.
