Always loved the T70 - my ex-Father in law was at Lola as a young man at the time it was designed.

One of these days I'll put enough aside for a GDT70, I think they're stunning.

tbh Andy took me round Bruntingthorpe in the T70 on a trackday and i placed an order shortly after, it was that good a demo. at the time i had no real plans as to how to fund the kit or where i would get an engine and box lol! if there was ever a way to sell a car, then taking someone out in it at speed must be one of the best :-)

GD have rightly gained a reputation for top end "kit cars", in fact they are anything but your normal definition of a kit. I was looking at Evo magazine recently and there is a T70Mk3 "replica" available again at £250k that doesnt look a lot different in build quality. Andy has been asked to do a spyder with the period correct knock on hubs etc i believe for a customer and i can imagine it being superbly engineered if so.

if anyone does genuinely feel the need for a T70 in their life, mine is available now at Gardner Douglas nr Newark for appraisal and test as it is now for sale. am willing to consider something along the lines of an Elise 111R in px as i'd like to still have something for trackdays as i cant shake the bug fully :-)

Have already received an email enquiry from a "gentleman" who wishes to buy my car but works as a caterer on a cruise ship. Apparently he's quite willing to send his agent to pick up the item and only needs my PayPal or bank details.... what's not to like there eh.? Lol i did swear at the c**k on email reply.
I had one of these, apart from my punter was a marine biologist working offshore who wanted to buy my car as a surprise present for his Dad... nutters.

Lovely car though OP.

Almost 6 litres and 500bhp in a small well handling package with ace brakes certainly does the trick on track :-) radicals and the like are as fast on track but just dont have the looks or history for me. Can Am was such a great era for race cars.

This is also of interest if anyone wants to see what its like to drive a GDT70 flat out. This guy is very talented and went round in sub 8mins in a road legal GD car. I bought the rims off it for spares with wets on :-) this car has 600+bhp so is a bit faster than mine but not massively so on track.

Lovely car, saw one at the Dove House meet last year and has confused me as I was hell-bent on building an Ultima in a couple of years...

BTW I have been a PPL for 28 years and heartily recommend it, get yerself onto the Flyer Forum - they have a very helpful Student section where all you questions will be answered and frustrations vented...you will find that getting the last 6 feet down onto the runway in a manner that pleases the instructor will be one of the most elusive things you will ever do...and then one day it will all click into place!

And lastly - do not pay any monies to the flying club up front, they have had a habit of going bust and taking peoples funds with them....

Have flown from Breighton airfield with friend a couple of times and also been up in gliders but the small 2 seater planes seem manageable at least in terms of cost etc. Its certainly the next step up from kit cars! Think his plane is a zenair and was built as a kit!

Not been to Breighton, but hear that there are some tasty classics tucked up in the hangars there!

the Zenair is on eof the new 'Plastic fantastics' which is lowering the operating costs of flying, but their high purchase cost in comparison to the old spam cans means that people are still flying the old metal.

I fly a friend's pair of Rallyes (French 4 seat STOL aircraft) from a Farm strip near Peterborough (well I would if all my flying tokens weren't going on school fees at the moment!) I will get current again next spring.....

I did manage to blag a hoon in an ME108 during the summer though...strangely emotional seeing black-crossed wings against an English Countryside...
