It's a nice car done well. The OP is unusual in the MPS world.

I always liked these, really discreet but very capable. I didn't realise they had so much tuning potential.
Great thread and good work!
I suppose the tuning potential isn't too much different from that of an Evo/Impreza etc. With the benefit of hindsight though its not the best base to start from though (not that I ever intended going this far!)

All cars have their issues but there are some pretty key limitations with the MPS.
Most noticeably on a stock engine the tendency to bend rods. Secondly the injector limits (I am almost maxing the stock injectors - obviously they are not at 100% as that would be daft and some headroom is needed). Finally - there is such a small aftermarket scene for these that parts are either unavailable (in the injectors case) or at a premium over equivalents for more well established models like the Evo's etc.

With that in mind - do I regret what I've spent/done? Not in the slightest
Would I do it again? probably not laugh

Hahaha, not happening. Lure of an F10 is too strong.

Mixed news in this update.

Good news; everything is still performing admirably, new clutch is holding fantastically and she's performing great. Couple of recent blasts down some local roads and it's driving the best it ever has. To my mind it's a great blend of power/traction/stability and the chassis is perfectly capable of handling the additional power.

Also - managed to nab a set of recently refurbished MK2 3 MPS alloys (my standard ones were way beyond their best)

I wasn't sure at first but they've grown on me.

Now onto the sad/bad news.

Unfortunately I've had to decide to put her up for sale. I could do with an estate and need something that is capable of having a tow bar attached. I also get very little chance to actually drive it how it should be driven.

Plus I fancy something with a V10 idea

I know I'm never going to get back what has been spent on it but I always new that come sale time. I won't be in a rush to sell and can afford to wait to get a fair value for it.

It's been a good journey and I love the car, but I have to succumb to the family requirements!
