Don't worry, there is at least one left (mine), 60K on original engine so far. I never thought it needed anything doing to it.rotarymazda said:

I take it either, you are the original owner, or you've been lucky enough to find one previously owned by someone who knows how to treat a rotary.carinaman said:
hehe I like that, but a lot of truth in that as the abuse most ReX's have suffered is criminal. Dan seems to have found a blinder of a car here though and I look forward to seeing it I've always fancied one but the thought of a rotary has always scared me a little (even though I'm an engineer type that likes to waggle the spanners) as have the fuel bills. But then I reckon owning one would be a great experience and most owners speak highly of the way they drive; they're a bloody bargain all things considered!

You can make that at least two originals left, mine's also still not been modified, although it will probably get some minor upgrades done to suspension, exhaust etc as and when they need replacing.Skylinecrazy said:

Excellent choice Dan! An itch I really want to scratch but just don't have the balls for yet.
Not seen you post in a while mate.Just thought that if I didn't do it now I'd never do it.
I hope the Rex gives you many smiles as it looks like a well kept example.
Moar pichers soon pleez.
Looks great, and sounds like you have a good chance of avoiding too many huge bills.
What year and model is it?
See what you think when you drive it, but to me the 'hard' or Bilstein OEM suspension is well-judged for road use, I'd only consider coilovers if my main aim was trackdays.
Still in love with my '96 Type RS just coming up on two years in, feels so pure and transparent, and quick and composed, both on road and track.

Looks good, especially with the later bumper. Don't be put off by the stories you hear about them - I've used mine as a daily driver for ages now and it's never let me down. Mine was last rebuilt at 40000 miles and it clicked over 114000 the other day - they'll last as long as you keep up regular maintenance on them. Oil and filter changes every 3000 miles and as others have said don't let it sit and get hot. There's loads of stuff around on the net too if you're prepared to look for it. If you want I think I have a digital copy of the workshop manual I could send you.
I think they look so much better standard, there's no way they look their age.
Any excuse to show mine:
