oh yeah use it as it should be....euro trips/le mans/the ring/track days.
its got 70k miles on it not 7k so far from being a garage queen!
some of these cars with 1k-10k miles on them I just find it criminal and bonkers. well not criminal as such just more of a waste of a great car. not using them for long periods is actually not that good for them!
Good to hear it its got 70k miles on it not 7k so far from being a garage queen!

I love my Elise looking and running as well as it can but it still gets used!
All
just had the GT3 done in the full front area in the ventureshield 3M protection as car has been painted. front bumper, bonnet, wings, door mirrors, A pillars and top of rear RS spoiler (the ironing board)
great recommendation for a company called TINTWISE down near Eastbourne.
great bunch of people and first class work.
over and out. NW

final bits to do on the car before wales trip....
Calipers refurbed
New Air con system
gets nasty in there
better main rad
air con re gassed.
no idea why Porsche never put some sort of mesh in there and its hard to retrofit on the gt3 as the air scoops all mold into the bumper fittings.
should last a few years though. will keep on top of it with the hoover.

an expensive day!!
new bosch alternator and drive belt:
replacement rear bumper painted and fitted (the old repaired one was not holding and was cracking above near side exhaust)
OEM exhaust tips..so much better and a slightly deeper noise too. Tips were welded on as bolts tend to rattle and rust quick:
all done now and where I want the old girl to be. just to drive and enjoy ;-)
great work as ever by Scotts Performance in Dartford, Kent. great local German specialist ;-)

am doing the centre console delete. being over 6ft its annoying at best of time and I don't really use it. drove an RS recently and that just felt more comfortable with no CC there.
the club sports and RS have this mod. its an easy mod (not that cheap) from the OPC and will go/look like this for anyone with a centre console and 996:

thanks chap and its getting there.
got the centre console delete stuff from the OPC and all went well.
only took about 30 mins once I had worked it all out and managed to lift the main gearstick console a little so I could get the console delete kit under. getting the metal bracket out with the 4 10mm nuts is a bit fiddly with a spanner but stuck with it.
its a great match with the OEM carpet and it looks so much nicer in the cabin. much less cluttered too and much more leg room for the over 6 footers
follow the instructions on the pelican site and you cant go wrong....

yes doddle.
just ring them up and ask for the GT3 centre console delete kit.
you will need parts 1 and 5 from the pictures I put on there. its basically the carpet parts and the plastic cap that covers the main console by the gearstick
see here:
Part 1:
Part 5:
yeah being over 6ft this makes a MASSIVE difference to enjoying the drive and it looks a lot better.

out of 5 month winter hibernation finally. could not wait for April to arrive. I do like this new direct debit system for taxing cars that are summer queens. 6 month bill only, cancel the DD and then SORN the car.
anyways dropped the oil and changed. New petrol cap from Porsche reading for a tenner. Rubber on old one had perished n bit fumy in garage. drove it. shat myself as been in the family Q5 diesel bus for too long!!
looking forward to some meets, alps run, wales visit and the odd track day.
