Car looks very clean! Is it fully standard or has it seen some mods? Any mods planned for the future?
However I can't help but ask why you bought one over an E36 328i Sport, it's especially hard for me to understand as I'm absolutely loving them and I'll be in the market for a 328i next summer hopefully lick

Always loved these, had a girlfriend back in the day who bought a 182 new. I test drove all the potential purchases and the Renault was much better to drive than the competition.
Strangely I have a 328 sport as my daily drive. I've had it for 8 years and put over 100k miles on it. Another itch to be scratched one day?
Glad you are enjoying your's, I shall follow this one with interest.

Cups normally over read on BHP figures! Loved mine, spent a happy 12 months in it.

Best modification I ever did was a KTEC induction kit. It sounded absolutely superb.

Nice clean looking Cup you have there, they are great fun aren't they! I have the CookSport springs on my 172 and I can heartily recommend them. The ride is nice, they lower the car nicely but not stupid amounts and seem to work well with the stock dampers. One thing to check on yours is the rear dampers though, if the back end starts to feel a bit too lively look at the shocks, they often need replacing around every 50k miles depending on how hard you drive it.

Great little cars, had mine 4-5yrs now & still love it.

Needs the springs - looks like a 4WD at the moment!

Mine has eibach springs, koni adj. dampers, BTB exhaust (originals are rubbish), powerflex dogbone, whiteline RARB, Brembo HC discs with Ferodo DS2500's up front, matched inlets & Ph.1 airbox with ITG filter. Was remapped earlier this year to smooth out the power delivery, as you rightly point out, these rarely make the claimed output & tuning them is expensive. Was tempted to get mine cammed when the belts were done early this year but £600+ for 8-12BHP didn't stack up for me.

Want to try to get the weight down for next season (hillclimbing), got an Odyssey battery to fit & will try to find some cheap(ish) seats but it's still used as a daily so nothing too hardcore.

Loved mine, had pretty much all the mods you have.
Has it got Brembo high carbon discs are whatever they are called? They are cheese there are much better on the market

Polybushed all round. Cracking drive.

Cooksport springs are a must, you will be impressed.

Grand to see another cup on here. Aren't they fun? I can really recommend the cooksports and the whiteline arb. And solid engine mounts. And 15" wheels, and etc... so easy to get carried away making these handle even better.

Enjoy!

Well, I'm afraid I'm easily influenced and ordered a set of cooksport springs. Will be with me within a couple of days. yes

I've read that the springs are easy enough to DIY due to no compression lock being required. True or False? I have time off at the moment so weather permitting, I could at the very least give it a half ar$ed attempt at fitting them.
Good skills, you won't be disappointed biggrin

Definitely no spring compressors required and it's an easy enough job if you know one end of a spanner from the other. I did mine in around 2 hours, but I wasn't rushing and had lots of tea breaks. The only special tool that helps is a swan neck spanner to get in to the top mounts. I think from memory it's 21mm but don't quote me on that! If you google 'Clio lowering guide' there's a few threads on ClioSport which will take you through it.

Looks very nice, similar to my old one, I covered 30k over 2 years, I would have loved to have kept it as a toy when I went over to dirty diesel for my daily but sadly didn't have the room at home.

As mentioned above, keep an eye on the rear dampers, I went through 2 sets on mine. Also exhaust hangers have a very limited lifespan, but are cheap enough to be a service item.

I keep looking at these for sale, but SWMBO reliably informs me that I already have too many toys in the garage!

Pics to follow once they are on and she's sitting pretty!

Johnjo - not sure the exact spec of the discs but considering the car has no ABS, they do their job pretty damned well. I've owned a mk1 golf gti in past and there is no way in hell it could stop half as well as the cup can. + The seller tracked the car and has had a few Renault RS' in the past so I have every faith in them.

Very easy to fit!

I did new shocks, springs, top mounts all round in 2 and a bit hours. As said no spring compressor needed, just be careful you don't pop the drive shaft out or you will have a gearbox oil mess over your driveway - trust me.
It's very easy to get back in and refill the gearbox oil.

RE the discs - it may be you have different ones or it might be they are fine for you. I just know I found mine poorish and so have a few other clio owners. I think I was a bit brash in my first statement, they aren't bad I've just felt better.

Might be worth ordering new top mounts at the same time depending on condition, also make sure you put them back the right way - seen countless people put them on upside down.

I enjoyed every minute of mine - even with the constant tinkering of parts.

That's my old car!

I had it with 62k on clock.

When I owned it, it had the following:

Apex springs
Brembo HC discs
Ferrodo DS3000 pads
Ketc full exhaust inc decat
Uprated engine mounts
Michelin PS3 tyres all round
Black alloys

It did a full track day at Bedford, approx 50 laps of the full circuit and didn't miss a beat.
