So, about 1000 miles into ownership (at a rough guess, I forgot how many miles were on when I got it) and I've had my first minor breakdown/headache.

Had a return trip up to Selby down the m62 and everything was going swimmingly, (I even broke the holy grail mpg barrier and averaged 32!) I got stuck in some traffic tonight and the temperature gauge kept climbing...

Had a closer look under the bonnet, what I previously thought was just yet another surplus plug was in fact the 12v feed to the fan-taped up with a bag over it! Cut it out, plugged it in, problem solved....

Almost. The fan now stays on constantly, the general opinion on google is that the AC is low, which somehow affects when the fan comes on. It still gets me how I've done so many miles without any issues before.

Got a couple of snaps today, clean as ever thumbup note the half assed attempt at tinting the rearmost windows... Few air bubbles here and there, but not bad for a cheap tenner roll off ebay!

I had forgotten about this thread... The volvo is now on 164,000 strong!

Just before Christmas my girlfriend's neighbour reversed into it, whilst it was parked up.

She owned up straight away and sorted me out a new door, so no hard feelings there.

I'd been saying I'd change the top engine mount for a couple of months, and finally got pushed to doing it over the weekend when the exhaust fell off just behind the turbo...

Great noise, but way too loud for normal driving.

The video doesn't really capture the volume, anything over 2k and you're struggling to chat to the passenger!

I jumped on eBay and got myself a polybush kit for the top engine mount and a strut bar tensioning kit. There seems to be a bit of debate over fitting a polybush to the top engine mount, as it can cause massive cabin vibrations, but personally I've not really noticed a difference.

Not bad for 10 minutes work. It's only 3 bolts too.

I had the NSF lower suspension arm replaced too, as it was clunking with a fair bit of play.

I've had it long enough now to notice a few annoyances, namely the seats - everyone raves how fantastically comfortable they are, but I'm getting backache after 3 or 4 hours driving. Maybe I should treat myself to a leather interior... scratchchin

The clocks are also worrying me a bit- they have the silver surrounds indicating they are the uprated set, but a few times I have started the car up and the rev counter has been a bit slow to respond and jump up. The trip computer is useless too, if the car has been on for 4 or 5 hours it just resets itself the next time you start the car. I'm not sure if they are going to get worse or just keep being a bit inconvenient... we'll see.
