Years ago, when I was 21, I had a Mazda RX7 running around 450BHP. To my friends and I, it was the fastest thing on 4 wheels. Right up until I saw a yellow one of these at Four Went Ways patrol station on the A11.
After giving each other the eye, we pulled out of the service area and planted the throttle. To this day, I still don't know which way he went - It was like a bullet out of a gun!

I still see the car every now and again and it always makes me think that there will always be a quicker car then yours!

As for your car - Love It!

January project: first attempt at modifying things will be to get it to sound as awesome as it looks, so the silencers will be coming off and be opened up to see what is inside. Might be that they can be modified to release a bit more noise, might be that I need to have some custom ones made.

A friend who happens to be fairly handy with a camera also took some pics for me...

Cheers smile

You would be surprised tho. It has the lowered floor pan which gives a few extra centimeters, the seats are fitted directly to the floor, and the steering wheel is removable to aid getting in and out. In saying that, getting in is a cross between a long jump and a limbo dance, and getting out isn't exactly a picture of elegance at the best of times smile

lol sounds like a real event though which is what often draws me to certain cars. I'm based in Glasgow but won't fail to spot you should you ever be in the city!

Bump for a picture update..

Major Upgrade Time

Over the last few months the car has been down at the Ultima factory to gets some work done and I grabbed the opportunity to have some parts upgraded to the newest spec from the new Ultima Evolution car.

That included

New double adjustable dampers
Evo extended wishbones and all the suspension gubbins that goes with that
New light weight radiators from the Evo model and larger cooling fans,
New ightweight battery,
Evo style carbon front splitter,
Carbon front light units
The latest Evo LED headlights and driving lights,
Lightweight forged Braid alloy wheels in gold with new Michelin tyres,
New angled steering arms
New quicker ratio steering rack
New track rods, new wheel offsets.
New damper design,
Evo stiffer front chassis and radiator mounts,
New front clam
New side windows and vents
Full paint job,
Paintshield self healing paint protection film to the full front clam and side panels
Factory service, geo setup, road test, aircon service, and probably lots of other bits I can't remember.

I also fitted quite a bit of the expensive heat reflective gold foil and had some additional heat shields fabricated.

I also changed the standard baffled silencers for smaller, lighter, unbaffled ones ... much loudness!! biggrin

Cosmetically, it's moving towards where I want to end up. I've got further plans for the interior and would like to do a bit more with the rear of the car. But that's maybe for later.

You get a better appreciation of how low it is compared to these two

Bump for some more pics... taken with a proper camera biggrin

I've also done a bit more to make the interior how I want it.

I initially liked the stripped-out race car look with the bare aluminium but wanted to see how it would look with a bit of carpeting so I got a fairly cheap carpet set from Ultima to see how that looked. I liked it a bit more than I thought I would so prepared some proper charcoal carpet and will end up trimming the edges in orange fairly soon

I also had the seats and centre tunnel and gear lever cover re-trimmed in black leather with contrast orange stitching, wrapped the seat backs in carbon and fitted a carbon handbrake cover. I also ordered a full custom set of orange 6 point harnesses with black contrast stitching.

The good thing is that if ever I or anyone else wants to go back to the stripped out look then it's all easily reversible

There is a couple of before / after pics to show the transformation from when it was originally built...

Superb. Obviously the exterior and hardware is brilliant but I think the interior upgrades are great too. Looks finished off now.

Fab looking GTR! What are the running costs like? And do you have the dimensions of your trailer?

Running costs are surprisingly low.
My insurance is under £300 (might even be about £250ish) and that is for 3k miles/year and agreed value.

Not really sure what the mpg is. When I bought it I drove it about 400 miles home, mostly up the motorway, and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was but back onto A and B roads at home it has taken a bit of a tumble to low/mid teens I think.

I am the least mechanically minded person in the world but they are apparently easy to self service and to tinker with. I had mine serviced by the Ultima factory in the summer and it was in the region of £350/400 all in.

Can't help with the trailer dimensions unfortunately since that was the Ultima factory's trailer returning the car to me.
