  • Edited the thread to link to pics after Photobucket binned them all**
Something different for me. I have in mind a few changes and modifications so should hopefully be able to document them over time if / when things progress

Spec is:

The car is a 2006 Ultima GTR
Chevy 6.0 litre LS2 Engine,
Porsche 6spd with lsd,
The engine was fettled with and fitted racing cam, springs, collets, ported, it also has a gated sump.
Circa 590/600 bhp engine with 514bhp at wheels
The gearbox is 6 speed getrag with lsd.
Fitted with an Accusump
A P racing brakes with brake bias adjustment.
Custom exhaust with over sized headers (all stainless)
Forgeline wheels which are powder coated in grey (to match the car) with polished rims
Removable MOMO steering wheel.
Lowered floor pan
Aircon.
Side skirts, front splitter and rear diffuser.
3M chip protection.
Single adjustable suspension.

Colours are Alfa Gregio Quartz bodywork,
Stripes Lotus Lava orange with a colour changing additive giving a very subtle colour change in different light
BMW titan silver.

Tyres
Pirelli P Zero Rosso
245/35/ZR18 front
335/30/ZR18 rear.

Length: 4000mm
Width: 1850mm
Height: 1070mm
Wheelbase: 2560mm
Ground Clearance: 120mm (adjustable)
Weight: 950kg
1060kg with fluids

Interior is fairly purposeful but surprisingly comfortable (ok, my backside got a bit numb driving it 450 miles from the Midlands home to Bonnie Scotland) and it even has a cd/radio fitted (which you can just hear if you turn the volume up full)

And for a bit of scale.. parked next to my wee MX5

That's an unusual vision where I live...

How do you compare it in terms of spirited driving on the road with normal cars? (As in the track it is what we all know smile

Just noted now.... 590/600hp for ca. 1 Ton of weight! That must be an absolute lethal weapon!

Congrats!

Just to add information to the topic, Ultima GTR factory specs: http://www.ultimatespecs.com/car-specs/Ultima/2176...

Great colour combo in the metal (so to speak).

Lack of traction control, stability control, launch control or even abs mean that anything other than pointing it in a straight line and going from normal speeds to very fast speeds very quickly without spinning the wheels takes a bit of skill. I need to work on that bit. Might be easier to be a bit more "spirited" when the roads aren't so damp.

Seems to get positive attention tho, which is nice. Once I get over the slightly embarrassing limbo dance and long-jump combination needed to get in and out of it then it is quite comfortable. smile

Passed this on the M73 a few weeks (maybe a month?) back and became extremely giddy for which mrs welshys couldn't understand! Certainly a consideration for the next kit car however I'll need to make sure my partner in crime would manage to get in and out, if you have it out towards Cumbernauld feel free to swing by and let me have a closer look! :P

Fantastic! I will build one of these one day...I have outline Senior Management approval but we have to finish paying school fees first....

A friend has a Maclaren F1 GTR and an Ultima seems to be the closest thing I could get to that experience for sensible-ish money

Great to see the Ultima on these pages (rather than just the Ultima section).

Car looks lovely and the side pods do look side in black / carbon. smile

Just Awesome, what a bit of kit. Ultima GTRs blow my mind... pretty much FXX levels of performance for less than a tenth of the price.

More pics please!!!
