That wing laugh

I personally wouldn't be driving it around but I've just read through the whole thread and a lot of work's gone into that. clap

Appreciate it! smile

If it makes it any better it is an actual wing from one of the cars from the VW Racing cup cars, 3 way adjustable (well it was 2 but we put an extra hole in) and actually does provide some downforce.

Very useful on the M25.

Good on you, more interesting than any other diesel VAG product I've seen... get it out on track and have some fun.

What I will say is I'm loving the massive Michelin man when it's running on Yokohamas hehe

It has PS4 on the front and AD08Rs on the back! laugh
But close enough. I tried to only have stickers of the stuff on the car or that I've used and AKS is where most of the magic happens underneath!

So, when you tell people you have a racecar, and you drive about in that, are you actually going racing in it?

You've even went to the effort of putting a novice sticker on it, you're going racing somewhere in it, yeah?
I do trackdays, so that's close enough.

Yes, I am happy with it. I think it looks fking awesome! Nothing beats having this little idea in your head which grows into a finished product. smile

Mock away if it makes you feel better.

I don't even do personal timing on trackdays sure fire way to make it end in tears for me / others!!
Hopefully others think to do the same.

It's not competitive, I just think it looks da beez neez.
I couldn't enter it anyway being a derv frown

It is primarily a road car which is more than capable of handling track abuse smile

I've got to say I don't hate the spoiler. Really, really needs the VLN kit to finish the look though

Clearly a veritable shedload of time and effort has gone into building this 'vision', for which you (and Alex) must be rightly commended.

It reminds me a bit of a 1990s Max Power style cover car. In a good way, it's clear that all of the work that has gone into it has been done smartly and to a good standard. In a less-good way, it's ultimately an exercise in projecting an image - be that super-wide arches or faux-racecar etc. - in a sort of form over function fashion.

If you like it, more power to your elbow. It's clear that you quite enjoy the attention from doing (and sharing) something you consider a bit 'daring', and you've definitely achieved that.

The wing will help on trackdays slightly - but at least it doesn't detract from performance lol. I just think it looks the part!

I will sort out a splitter! It is on the list I promise.

It doesn't do much aero-wise but I was looking at one of these.....

http://www.maxtondesign.co.uk/product/scirocco-iii...

However I fully know it doesn't do much, I may make one from Marine Plywood and mount it off the crash bar or something. I have an idea about making a huge splitter that runs underneath the car, and bolts to the 3 threaded bolts at the back of the undertray, and then some supports from the front chassis legs or more likely the crash car, with access holes underneath so I can do an oil change without dropping the whole thing... I will check with Alex.

I already have the GT24/VLN/N24 whatever you want to call it bonnet... the real GT24 cars run something like 11 inch wheels front and rear with wide arch extensions. I can buy them buy it's 6000 Euros..plus bodywork costs.. um no thanks. I can get stock width GT24 style wings in carbon fibre so I may just do that, or I can buy them in Fibreglass and paint them body colour - not sure.

Wow that's changed a little since I last saw it!! It was pretty quick last time we went to MB world so what's it running at now approx? Is it your daily driver? Look forward to seeing it in a few weeks.

Hi Simon, glad you're back in a car and all well :-)

Before it was on stock fuel pump and would get intermittent limp mode because we were asking more than the fuel pump could deliver. Now we have new fuel pump so an extra 30% fuel and another 0.3 bar boost.

It's between 255 and 275 now.. depends on how hot it is and how soon the EGT limiters kick in. We need more fuel and better head airflow so larger injectors and ported head are next and should be a repeatable 310-320bhp.

Looking forward for the morning drive!! smile

Much like the public sector, where everybody, everywhere is eventually promoted beyond competence, I think there comes a point where every car modifier, everywhere goes that little bit too far.

Fair play for putting the photos up, though, and so long as you're happy then why not. smile

DELETED: Comment made by a member who's account has been deleted.
It does get a bit light over the rear especially when braking from high speed. I have Aston DB9 calipers up front and put S3 (310mm) rears on to try and balance. It did help but still can do with a bit more.

The wing probably won't help much but looks cool nevertheless :-)
