Nice work on the plate. Where are you headed this weekend? Looks like you’ll get some sunny running.

Had a great time over at Llandow circuit. Part from the one slip up (one into the first corner too a tad too fast). The car performed amazingly well - as always!

The car is now covered in dead bugs so I think it'll need a clean and then a service and health check next. Then I'll need to decide where to head to next!!

Handed over the GP to Lohen (for the n'th time) last week. To have some work done.

1. Oil change / service
2. Health check - I've been on a couple trackdays since I last visited Lohen. So thought I'd have them check the car out. Turns out it was a good idea. They believe the suspension will require a refurb in the near future. Other than thay, everything else appears to be fine.
3. Rear cage and driver's side harness fitted.

Be great to hear more about your experiences of Lohen - I’m toying with using them for a health and geo check as part of a day out.

Also, could you post some pics of how that cage mounts in the back? Looks a really OE+ install from a distance but be good to see the reality of the location points.

Have only just spotted this post.

They carryout health checks on my car pretty often. I usually have them do it during every visit. As for more shots of the cage I'll check my phone to see what I have.

Update -

I've recently come back from a Nordschleife driving course with a team called Scuderia S7. It was by far the most intense and enjoyable experience I've ever taken part in. 2 whole days of unlimited access to the track and experts!

Been a while since my last update.

Thanks to work and travelling the car hasn't seen much daylight or action. It's scheduled to see the good people over at Lohen for some maintenance work.

After that I'll be putting it up for sale (have yet to decide whether I'll return it to its standard form)!

Reasons for selling.... I love the car to bits. And if I had the space. I'd keep it forever. However, I don't have the space and would like to try something different and as (if not more) interesting and exciting than the Mini.

I've test driven a few Exige Sport 350s now. And I'm almost certain it'll be the car that replaces the Mini GP!

Took a while to get some heat into the Toyos (R888R). But once up to temp, I had a fantastic time. This was also my first time on track since having Lohen fit the TTV Organic clutch and flywheel kit!

Are you selling the number plate when you sell the car?

Lovely car OP, I love the mini GP.

Is there anything more capable on track than one of these that can be used a daily driver as well?

Im sure there are plenty of other cars. Though I'd never want to use this on a daily basis.

Agreed - while you absolutely could use a GP2 as a daily driver - it’s got heated seats, DAB, air-con etc, I really wouldn’t if you can avoid it. As a daily, all the things that make it exciting would probably just become frustrating.

That said, I also don’t buy all the press talk that it’s too edgy as a road car and it should be saved for the track - total garbage. It’s a fantastic fast road car, especially B roads, as long as they’re not rediculously bumpy!

You guys need to move somewhere with better/more interesting roads on your doorstep wink

Mine is my daily and I get to enjoy the Lake District (and surrounding) roads on a daily basis. The only thing I truly wish it had was cruise control for the more long-distance slogs down a motorway.

In respect of the car that's going to replace it, I was also thinking of an Exige V6. It must be the natural progression or something smile
