After searching for a large family car, that can swallow 3 car seats in a row, I viewed a few Disco 4s and then put a despot down on one last week. It was delivered this morning, and I can't wait to get out and use it.

Its a 2011 (61) plate car, 1 owner from new and 37k on the clock. Its Indus Silver with Ebony interior, with piano black trim. Its the 2012 model so it gets the SDV6 engine and 8 speed gearbox. It moves well for a 2.5 tonne vehicle!

A few quick iPhone snaps:

Nice, personally I'd prefer a light interior, but I dont have kids!

Thanks.

Kids were the actual reason I wanted a dark one, lol - so you hit the nail on the head there!

Looks great. My parents have the exact same spec on their Disco 4, fantastic cars. Also great to drive, surprisingly good fun to push on smile they move a lot better than you'd expect them to!

I really like that. Sensible wheels, and not a window tint in sight! These look much more classy without ganster wanabe tints on all the windows.

Looks like a good buy OP

It does indeed move well, and from what I hear, a remap gives 300 BHP and 650NM Torque (will save that for later though)

Thanks, the wheels were upgrades, car OEM spec is 19", these are 20". Also as for tints, I was contemplating a light tint back of B post, as kids prefer a bit of shade and tend to sleep better on long journeys. I would never go dark like a limo etc.

I drive these things for a living, on and off road. Absolutely awesome machines that just do everything well, seems like a good purchase and it looks mint. Enjoy.

Old neighbours had a 1 or 2 and it was forever being fixed. Don't know how many miles it had but it didn't give me the best impression.

I'm not knocking them, in fact really do like them but are they a bit "high maintenance"?

I know what you mean, but from what I can gather from my research, since TATA took over, things have improved massively, and they Disco 4, especially later ones like this, are meant to be far far improved in that regard. Time will tell, at least I have a 12 month warranty for now.

Very nice looking vehicle
was it main dealer or independent?

I recently had a 2013 freelander from main dealer in Exeter
they were very good indeed, same group in Taunton were no where near as decent to deal with, view cars etc, so much I got the Exeter dealer to get the car from Taunton so I could buy it there, and Taunton is 20miles closer to home.

Warranty is a wise thing as these can be expensive and peace of mind is worth a hell of a lot.

It is a main dealer car, from Duckworths Boston. It has the 12 month approved used warranty, and I am likely to extend either via the dealer network, or via warranty direct/wise etc.
