Small update .
A few more things have turned up ready for next month .

On to this weekend and a small service of oil and filter change and fuel system cleaner and engine flush .

Also cleaned out the BMC air filter .

And gave the MAF sensor a good clean .

And to finish off some dehumidifiers .

Big update time .

On Thursday I took the car down to Abbey Motorsport for a few parts to be done .

First up was to change the old tired camber arms

Old

New Hardrace uprated adjustable units .

Then the rear old tow arms .

New Hardrace uprated adjustable units

Then was the spring bucket replacement Hardrace uprated adjustable units .

They replace the inboard spring bucket that are left when using true dual coilovers .

New lock out camber bolts as the tracking can be undone on the original camber bolts if hitting large potholes .

Then on to the old front track rod ends .

New Hardrace uprated long shaft units .

Then after all of the suspension changes a full tracking session was done .

Next up was the Diff .

The diff bush bearings were getting and were knocking and one was leaking so needed to be changed .

Old units

New Whiteline bushing kit

Then on to the diff .

The unit in the 350Z UK car is an open vicous type and the last time I did a diff oil change the unit looked a bit tired .

After doing some reading the best plan for me was not a clutch type as it is still my road car so a Quaife ATB was put on order .

Old Differential unit

New Quaife ATB unit .

Then last on the list was to change over the hi flow sport cats for some Moterdyne ART pipes .

Old Cobra hi flow sport cats

New Moterdyne ART pipes .

Sound clip I will load up later but the car is still nice and quite and not too loud but give a good bark on full throttle .

Last up was to put the car on the Hub dyno to tweek for the new ART pipes .

I was not expecting that much improvement in power but the ART pipes gave a 11.5 BHP gain and 5 LB/FT gain so very good in the end .

So the car is now putting out 310 BHP and around 288 LB/FT .

Regards

Alan

smile it is the best £ 6.00 I have spent on it .

Does a good job of taking some of the condensation from the window .

Got round to changing all of the headlight lamps at the weekend bit of a pain as you have to remover the inner wing arch liner .

Thought I would upgrade all the lamps .

The main beam ones Philips extreme H7 + 130%

The dipped Xenon ones Philips extreme D2R + 50%

The side light ones are 501 50W CREE

The indicator ones silver vision

The old units with the orange indicator lamp in place .

All changed over and working

Really like the Silver Visions - they freshen up the light cluster nicely. Made the same change on my Clio smile

Lovely Zed you have there. Mine was nowhere near up to the standards of yours but it was still an enjoyable car to own and drive. The modifications you have made are tasteful and effective. Hope you make it back to the 'ring sometime this year!

Update time .

I took the car down to Abbey Motorsport to have an MOT and a few other things done .

First up was to have some Hardrace adjustable from camber arms fitted .

Then another alignment .

The front compression arms ( banana arms ) were changed last year but were showing signs of cracking again so some Superpro polyurethane were fitted .

Then for the big job .

The car is running dual coilovers front and rear ( not the more common front but separate rear shock spring set up ) and the rear strut / top mount is not designed to take the load of the shock and spring so this needed to be strengthened with seem welding

and a new plate to link the upper and lower section together and 2 braced plated per side fitted along with a good coat of Waxoyl .

I've enjoyed reading through the thread, having just bought one myself.

What mods do you recommend first on a value for money basis?

Love what you have done to this.

I work in Nissan parts so if you need anything let me know and I will see what I can do. We have a post office across the road to.

I almost got a 350Z before but went with a MK5 R32 because of the DSG. One of many car regrets of mine ha.
