Not too exciting, but I just washed it and it's shiny...

Behold, my rare and exotic... Toyota Auris Estate!
It was delivered just under a fortnight ago, and almost immediately went from brand-new and gleaming to filthy and coated in that dreadful grey salty winter crap that we all know and love.
Detailers amongst us will shudder, but a couple of hours with an ageing Karcher, some Tesco own-brand car shampoo and a bit of Auto Glym polish applied with bits of old towel got the paintwork gleaming again.
Now that I've seen it clean and in sunlight, I'm really pleased with the colour. It's nearly as nice a metallic red as the one that Renault put on new Clios; it seems to glow in direct sunlight. For an ordinary workhorse kind of car, I think it actually looks quite decent. Definitely one of Toyota's better styling efforts, although the unkind might say that's not a difficult feat.
Anyway, here's some pictures of one of the least PH cars on PH. (All joking aside, I do rather like my new Auris. There's a thread with more detailed impressions of the car here: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... )
