New Car - first vtec!
Discussion
Well, I will try and keep the waffling down to a minimum and I am aware that i need to stop consuming pies at such an alarming rate in order to offset the purpose of having a very light car...
3 hours down there in pitch black in a hired Nissan Note which had more tech in it than a spaceship - blindspot warning alarm and picture light up in the wing mirrors, lane wandering alarm, digital dash that was brighter than the sun, 2 reverse camera's with guided parrallel parking and the worst auto box i have ever driven... in cruise control this thing swapped between gears at 50mph every other second, good job there is no average speed limits on the M5, oh wait....
stayed the night in the ironically named Best Western -
So the purpose of this trip was to pick up the new toy, took me 7 years to save enough money, my first 'new' car and I have brought the slowest honda in the shop i could find, but I could not be happier
Great experience driving back, Tom from the factory was telling me of the current record for leaving the factory and finding a hedge was quite frightening - which made me think twice before pressing the very loud pedal..
Anyway onto some pics
Awesome drive home once i got some confidence - insanely quick - took a while to get used to the vtec and the acceleration in general but some lovely roads near the Cotswolds and up the Fosse, everyone giving us the thumbs up and even had a bit of a play with a f-type v8 owner who had a ph sticker on the back of the white car
thanks
MrL

Thanks for the comments, in terms of connection to the road its like nothing else i have driven, so much feedback without being uncomfortable, turning circle is not great but the steering generally feels so intuitive, very direct input, initially a little under steery then once it was a bit warmer just lots of grip, no rear wheel spin, had the suspension softened off quite a bit tho...

Great car OP!
By the way.....what was the record for finding a hedge on the way back from the factory?
Top three I can remember was 11 miles, then 15, then 20, conditions were not ideal for a noob like me but as long as you respect it all was fine, only really pushed it in a straight line and even then not that hard By the way.....what was the record for finding a hedge on the way back from the factory?

"Watch this......"
Bloody hell, I've said for years now if my numbers ever come up this is what I would do! Road trip down, stay overnight, pick up one of these and a road trip all the way back to Newcastle getting to know it.So jealous and so much want for one of these for a long time now. I too drove the 6th gear one around Bruntingthorpe and was shaking off the adrenaline for a while afterward, top man!

Did they let on how many Nomads were on order/ being built?
They said they had a lot of interest with double figures of orders, they were saying they have three at the moment I think for press and testing different configs, they look awesome, very tempting =) I think I remember them suggesting a lot of interest from the likes of abu Dhabi etc..
