My last company car was an E91 318D Touring.

Did over 55k in that car and let's be honest, the performance is perfectly adequate for real world conditions.

Excuse my ignorance but do M Sport BMW not come with an M badge.

If it was M3 it would have an M3 badge and same with an M5

What Bmw actually come with a simple M badge.

I love driving my car but part of me wishes I went with an automatic gearbox....but then I remember it's only a 318d.
I think an autobox suits a diesel engine really well and it always seems to utilise its torque filled nature of the engine.

Holy thread resurrection etc. but I always think the cheap ebay badges are way too big. Getting one that was meant for an e90 M3 is probably the best bet. I was unhappy with the bland looking bootlid without the badge so bought a genuine one and left out the "3". I tried to install it in exactly the right location according to factory measurements too.

Lovely colour that and I like the bodykit detailing too.

Thanks. Only just fitted the aero sides and rear diffuser. Seemed a shame to muck the car about but wanted something new to look at after nearly 5 years ownership. Got saddle brown interior too which is rare in the UK (yes I got influenced by the americans on bimmerpost!). It's a Le Mans Blue 2.0d auto (184) model.

I really like how different it looks and Le Mans blue is one of my favourite colours and had a couple of BMW`s in that colour, the saddle brown interior looks good too and nice to have a change from the default black leather that everyone goes for.

Continue to enjoy it smile

I drove a 318d a few years ago, and would not describe it as brisk; despite my own car having 70hp at the time!
Standard PH response lol

It's a small diesel saloon designed with economy in mind, 140bhp is happily enough and it'll feel more brisk than the 1.2 Fiat 500 I had the "pleasure" of driving the other week lol
Yeah it's a shame people respond that way. I'd say 140hp for most people would feel brisk. Brisk is less than fast but more than slow tongue out and a 318d isnt 'slow' so its an ok description wink

Always wondered what the e90 316d is like to drive. Still a 2 litre but hardly any turbo pressure I would think. Guess it was pre efficient dynamics. Only ever seen 1 on the road.

RE: the 316d, I remember having to put a lot more effort (well I used everything I had) in overtaking one when both joining a dual carriage way. Mines an Exeo 2.0 tdi with the CR 170 lump.

The 316d was the newer shape '12 model. Guess it was remapped .. I hope!
