I have recently joined Pistonheads due to the arrival of my first car. A 2011 Toyota Aygo Go with only 21,000 miles on the clock and full service history. I bought it from a woman who had owned it since new, and used it as a town car. She certainly looked after it and even gave it a full polish regularly. The mileage and engine size is what attracted me to go and look at it. The car is in mint condition throughout, with no parking dings or scrapes on any of the body panels. It has just had 2 new tyres put on the front and a complete service. I'm not yet 17 until 11th April, however I have had the chance to drive it on a local abandoned airfield and so far I'm impressed. Everything is so light and simple to use and it seems to be the ideal first car for someone of my age.

Here are some pictures:

A good first car. They are surprisingly fun to drive with them being so light and revvy.

Good going for a 16 year old.

Just once you have to give every 3 cylinder car a quick run along the road with the airbox disconnected. Get the full mini V6 experience hehe

They're good cars/ I had the Citroen variant and it ran for 3 years without a hitch. The engine sounds good and it's fairly nippy whilst good on fuel.

Enjoy it for what it is a cracking introduction to the world of cars, focus on maintaining momentum and be safe.

As an aside please don't spend thousands on body kits and other various improvements, if you find yourself leaning this way jus think that money saved by not doing this combined with price for selling the car in a few years will be a good step towards something like an s2000

I just waved off my '09 Aygo this morning as the new owner came to collect it. Sorry to see it go, as they are surprisingly good cars.

In 6yrs and 35000m all it ever needed was a windscreen wiper and two front tyres.

Hope yours is as fun and reliable. (And welcome to PH, too)

Though I'd give a little update.

Passed my test in August and love driving so far. I've added little details to the car tomake it my own. I have also had the drivers side headlight replaced under warranty due to condensation issues. Apart from that their is nothing else to report. An excellent car that's cheap to run. I plan to keep it for 2 years and build up my no claims, and then look for something with a bit more POWER!

No don't worry, nothing like that. I have added a rev counter, exhaust tip and a centre armrest to make them journeys a little more relaxing. Other than that, I am just going to keep it clean every week. Already looking for my next car, can't resist.

Pics on the way.

They're a decent run around and the bumpers are flexible and cheap if you are ever unfortunate enough to have a shunt.

Also might be a good idea to invest in a good set of ear plugs because the road noise in the one we had was absolutely ridiculous.
