Had this for just over a year now, full service history and only just turned 57,000 miles. I have uprated the front suspension bushes and had to replace a rear spring along with a couple of rear tires but I love it.
Fuel consumption is somewhere south of the border but that is due to only having a 5 mile return trip to work twice a day, currently around 19.5 to the gallon rolleyes

Forgot to ask, has anybody done the golf tee mod and does it really make any difference to fuel consumption, noise etc...?

Did you get the car from your ex before or after she became the ex? Also the golf tee thing, im sure it only ads a little noise low down the range, no effect on economy.

I did the golf tee mod on my 328i, no effect on performance or economy and more noise when under load at low revs. I quite like it smile

Looks nice. As others have said, no effect other than noise for the mod. Sounds so much better pulling away

sadly had to sell when she became my ex as it was a gift from her. Thanks for the replies on the mod, will try it this weekend.

Has she never heard that you can't take gifts back. biggrin

An E46 with only 57k on! I thought they left the factory with 100k on. That's a great example.
Cool old wedge too.

Can make the car quite boomy though, especially at motorway speeds.

Tried it on both my 330ci and Alpina B3. Bit boomy on both so didn't bother on my 3.0i Z4.

Still yet to do this but at least I can just reverse it if it is too bad, hardly ever go on motorways thankfully

Made zero difference to mine on the motorway. Worth a go, as you say it is easily reversible if you don't like it!

I found mine much louder at motorway cruising speed, around 3k revs, so reverted it back to stock.
