Update:

This car has been an absolute peach, it's still running as lovely as ever.

It flew through its MOT last month, only advisory was a windscreen chip! I was surprised.

I think freshening up the suspension is next on the cards, majority of the components looks original or quite old so i think it will make a difference. New bottom arms, drop links and shocks should do the trick. Rear axle bushes have already been replaced so i only have the front suspension to work on too.

i gave it a bit attention today, machine polished, sealed and waxed for winter, looks decent for a 15 year old shed.

Had the Puma out for a good drive yesterday which brought some issues to light. It feels a bit skittish which i think is to do with worn top mounts, there's a fair bit of vertical play in the strut with the car jacked up, i'll order these along with the springs and replace both at the same time.

The brake pedal feels stiff and a bit vague, i also have no ABS. I did repair an ABS sensor when i got the car as the wheels that were fitted caught on the inner wings and wore through the sensor wire, my fix has either not worked or there is another issue somewhere. The ABS and traction control lights have been took out of the dash by the previous owner but when i plugged in my code reader it showed no codes, therefore no lights which is a mystery. I think i'll replace the front discs as one is warped and then the 2 front flexis, hopefully they feel better afterwards.

I'm looking at around £400 to remedy the problems, including 4 new tyres, but hopefully its worth it

Apart from that its a blast to drive smile

Are you from Durham by any chance?

Thought it was time for a little update, although not much has changed or gone wrong!

Had the car for a year now, this is the longest i've kept a car and i don't have any plans to get rid.

Noticed an oil patch on the drive towards the rear of the car which turned out to be a leaking shock absorber, it looks like whoever fitted them in the past has fitted cheaper oil filled fiesta items as opposed to the gas filled Puma shocks. 2 Sachs rear shocks on the way. I'll do the fronts soon as they're probably the same oil filled contraptions.

Gave the calipers a lick of paint seeing as they're so visible through the wheels, fitted the rear mudflaps just after that photo was taken too, not sure if they're staying as my wheels are wider than them!
