Looks fantastic, great colour and pictures... I have a silver one and am very jealous! It looks rather high since getting the Speedlines on though, any lowering plans in the works?

Thanks everyone! Yeah it is a bit high for my liking at the minute but it will have to stay that way for now, have insurance tax and mot due next month! Hopefully will be investing in a set of cooksport springs and an ITG panel filter over the summer!

I love Turinis. There aren't many wheel/car combinations that suit each other better. I'm sticking with my Williams wheels on mine though.

Great looking car thumbup

Got the car back from a well needed major service from Charles Hurst recently, had the following work done;
Dephaser Pulley
Timing Belt
Aux Belt
New Power steering pump
New Alternator
Oils
Filters
Feels much nicer to drive with the new steering pump, last one was definitely goosed!
Picked up a few other goodies whilst the work was being done, new ITG Panel filter;

Renault exhaust mounts are useless and sag very quickly with the Milltek on so bought some new mounts and Powerflex universal mounts and made my own!
(New on the left & old on the right)

Car is crying out to be lowered but will look into that eventually as I unfortunately have Tax, Insurance & MOT all due in the next month! frown

As usual a few photos also...

Been a while since I was last on here!

In that time I've treated the car to an overhaul of the brakes and suspension as they were getting very tired. The front discs were replaced with Brembo Mac HC grooved discs & Mintex 'Fast Road' pads, the rear to Genuine Renault discs and Brembo pads, all fluid changed an re-bled also.

Shortly after having this work done I took part in my first track day around Kirkistown circuit in the car, the car drove excellently and I can't wait to get back again.

After this I realised that the suspension was in need of some TLC also, with one rear shock beginning to leek and a crack appearing in one of the front springs it didn't take long for me to get them replaced. I opted for Eibach 30mm Sportline springs and Renault Cup shocks as I didn't want too harsh a ride but wanted to lower the car slightly.

Also had it's yearly service and gearbox oil changed as well as adding a private plate.

Anyway, some updated photos and a short video of the noise!

Next up I hope to get hold of an RS Tuner and apply a 98 Ron map & have the steering wheel retrimmed. Oh, and finally get round to fixing that bumper! For now though It's extremely good fun to drive!

Depending on where you're based - ClioSport.net/Clio197.net are currently doing a group buy/discount with RS Tuning (based in Leeds).

Generally considered the "best in the biz" for Renault Tuning, at least they are on the 197 forum.

I think they needed 10+ people to sign up and pay deposits to qualify for £100 discount off a map (bringing the price down to £200 + VAT if I recall correctly).

I must look into that, thanks for the heads up! Although I'm Northern Ireland based, so a bit of a trek for me!

Beautiful looking Clio. I may be interested if you are considering selling at some stage, especially considering I am contemplating moving to Belfast for work.

Enjoy it!

Very nice! Currently looking for a well cared for 182 for the other half and her preference is for a Racing Blue one. Although finding a good one is proving to be difficult as most are run of a shoe-string it seems which is sad frown Be worth waiting for a good one though, fortunately she's very patient!..

Thanks! Unfortunately I have no plans of letting go of this one for a long time! If that changes I will post in here though! If you do come to Belfast join our RenaultSport Owners N.I. facebook page, theres a couple of nice ones advertised on there as well as good deals on local servicing.

Thanks! I had that same problem hunting for this one, took me a while to find one with low mileage! Dependant on your budget there is 2 nice ones on eBay - one with only 13k on the clock and another with 70k.

There's a name to muddy the waters. Charles Hurst are the biggest gangsters in the motor trade. Might as well have given your car to the Peaky Blinders to have it serviced.

I know people that learnt the hard way. Left their car in to get it serviced and marked every filter. Nothing was changed that was agreed.

They even made a TV show about them which was absolute car crash.

Absolutely gorgeous. I want one of these in this colour for my next car I reckon. I know it doesn't matter, but what's it like on fuel?

Personally, I have never had a bad experience with Charles Hurst Renault in Newtownards, the service has always been great, I know what I've requested has been done and done right. The prices have always been reasonable and both the mechanics & service staff are all Renosport enthusiast's which always helps.

I do agree that TV show did not help their PR at all though, it was very much car crash tv haha.

Thanks! As always, dependant on driving style! Between a mixture of commuting and having some fun on B roads I average around 25/30mpg.

That's fairly low, I can get up 33mpg doing silly little journeys. On the motorway I can get 40+ at 70. The joys of lightness eh?
