I cant imagine how that must be, life must seem pretty bad atm but chin up and keep going i'm sure things will get better.

i assume you're having to wear ear defenders / plugs?

I'm trying to keep my spirits high. Ive lived with some of these symptoms for 18 years buts gotten worse in the last 4. This is my fourth operation but the least successful.

Ears are plugged but noise still gets through. Even the aeroplane flying near my house as I type this is bouncing around in my ear.

I guess the best way to describe it is like a constant reverb

My condition isn't improving but I am hopeful that it does. In the meantime I am waiting for a new rear engine mount to be delivered today and then I may tackle the job of changing the spark plugs as regardless of whether I keep or sell the car, they need doing.

Would be a shame if you had to sell it, but if you do, let me know.

I'd be very interested!

Yeah I think I'd be very disappointed if I did have to sell it. If I do then it'll be on the PH classifieds. It'll be a few weeks before I know I guess as I have an appointment with the ENT specialist or one of his team next week.

New plugs fitted today. Car idles better but not sure if its cured the stutter yet.

No fault codes and no air leaks that I can see.

Got a flat battery now, I think it is faulty. Going to order a new one today to be delivered tomorrow.

So at the moment I am in two minds with what to do with this. Do I put a bit of money into it making it faster and lower, so it'll have around 370bhp which wll be pretty nippy, or move it on and get back into an E39 M5. I really am 50/50.....

thinking of your health....drive both with a decibel meter?

Given your hearing I'd be looking to find the quietest performance car possible1

That is a consideration, though I was a passenger in my gf's Twingo RS 133 last night and managed ok in that, and if you've ever been in one, you'd know how noisy they are, especially with cup suspension!

Think its just that platform the wind was based on the twingo which if iirc is a stiffened up gen 2 clio so pretty archaic really!

I had an 09 Laguna coupe at the time and that was another world!

I think the Twingo handles pretty well all things considered. This one is quite easy to throw around and doesn't roll much. It is not comfy for long distance driving though! The drivers seat does not go back far enough for someone of average height (5ft10) so I drive it with knees very bent, and when you're driving back from Amsterdam to Aylesbury in it in one day, that equals a day of pain lol.

I guess the Laguna was quiet?

Yeah the wind was like a roller skate on rails, great fun but terrible for any sort of distance and it shuddered over every bump in the road.

Laguna was lovely and quiet, smooth ride but a little harsh on broken B roads. 4 wheel steer made it feel much nimbler than you expect from such a big car too!

I honestly read that as "but ex girlfriend had wind and that was pretty noisy..."

I was thinking to myself as I read it; "was your ex an elephant?!'
