Thanks chaps smile

My mate Steve (the one i go to the 'ring with who has the other R26.R and 911 I drive) did a speech at our wedding about my luck, I'm waiting for it to turn south and bite me in the arse but I must admit Sway, that phrase is always the one I use to defend myself!

It was a bit of a rush job at Honda and bless them it did actually fail the PDI as the car had rusty wheel nuts which they said they couldn't let go (god bless Honda!) but were prepared to let it go as long as i brought it back in on my return to let them fit new ones hehe

A new thread will obviously be created in time, however here is what awaited my arrival at the dealership at 3pm Tuesday;

The cover makes it look as if it's a new Pikes Peak car about to be unveiled - love it.

All things are relative! As described at the start of this thread, I purchased the car knowing that i could realistically get out without losing too much but let's be honest, the same won't be true of it's replacement.

Some cars i've done very well out of, some I've taken a bath on. I try to be as sensible as possible but when all's said and done, I go into these things with my eyes wide open expecting to take a hit. Fast cars are a hobby (or a passion?) and there are very few hobbies out there that don't cost you money. If i were into fishing for example I've no doubt I'd be chasing big game out on the high seas and I can't imagine that would be cheap-hell even collecting stamps is a fortune!

If the car were simply a tool to get to work and back I can imagine many thinking it were crazy but i personally feel that I get so much more out of them than that, which hopefully these readers' cars threads shows smile

Nice choice on a replacement. I look forward to the thread on it.

Not to derail the thread with advertising (& risk the wrath of the mods!) I've sent you a PM through here, though no idea if it works at present thumbup

I've just found this thread from the the Type R thread - congratulations on the new arrivals!

I thought I'd got a good deal on my mk3.5 MX-5, but nowhere near as good as yours! I really enjoyed the 2 years I had the car for, much like the mk3 MR2 I think the mk3 MX-5 is very underrated. I have such good memories of the trips I did in mine.

I'm also planning to surprise my Dad with a day out in a Morgan hired from the factory - I took him to the factory last year and he loved it.
