So after six months of driving my first car (ford fiesta 1.3) I got bored. I wanted something fun and a bit more purposeful whilst still being being practical and cheap to run, but possibly most importantly, cheap to insure.

As I am sure most of you are aware, insurance for younger drivers is rather expensive but it only cost me £500 (on top of what I had already paid for the fiesta) to change from my fiesta to this. This obviously doesn't sound cheap if your 40 and have 10 years NCB but for someone with only six months driving experience it is pretty good.

I bought the car based on the praise some of you on here have given the car in older threads. I've head very little negative comments about the car too.

I don't have a lot to compare the car to having only driven 6 cars in my life but I've been a passenger in some quicker cars so I at least have something. I'll not go into to much detail about how the car is because it's already been covered in older threads but it is fun rotate 1.5 VVT, 110hp and 935kg so it feels pretty quick (to me anyway). Standard recaro seats are nice and supportive and not too bad even on longer journeys. The suspension on the other hand is definitely not for people who like a nice, smooth ride. It is hard and crashy. It doesn't bother me but if you have a long commute this is definitely not the car for you.

The car can be chucked into corners with ease. It will slip and slide about as the tyres/wheels are only 185s/5.5j, but it's easily controlled and plenty of fun. The only real downside to this car is how I'm constantly tempted to rake it everywhere which means I use quite a lot of fuel (the best I've had is 34 MPG). That's all I really have to say about it, if you have any questions, just ask smile

So here it is smile Already bought some green stuff pads and new discs as the current ones are on their way out. I also bought a mesh grille for it (factory option). It's sprayed black temporarily because it was red previously but it will be going silver in the near future.

Congratulations! They are great wee cars and are well regarded by most. I looked at one before I got my Clio a few years back, and I wish I had probably would've been less trouble. There are a few people around the site that have them have experience of them so if you need any advice I'm sure there'll be loads of support.

If you want a laugh as well check out this thread: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=1&a...
