Your Cossie looks epic. I was actually watching 90s Geordie cop Spender on YouTube last night and he was driving a G plate saloon in black. I think I prefer them looking standard with the original wheels, a real presence about them

The G-reg 2wd car was actually a dark grey, Ford Flint Grey. It can look black though in certain light or old film.

He had a black H-reg 4wd car later though. The G-reg car was stolen off set and found later, burnt out

its rare to see one now that has not been molested or bazzed up to the eyeballs.

great to see it looking well and surviving

I saw a moonstone blue one of the road the other week and it caught my eye. looked REALLY small and compact compared to modern cars and it was trundling along nicely.

standard ones are becoming real real classics now....if not there already!

The Shark Tooth was a very nice wheel. My 2wd had them on when I bought it.

How did you find the aircon on it? If Clarkson is to be believed then he said it was like an asthmatic blowing through a straw..

Saves you 6kg in unsprung weight as well as they're a bit lighter than the lattice wheel

I changed them to 17's after a while, so probably gained the 6kg back!

I'm definitely in the standard wheel camp. At one time I would have gone with the Compomotives, but now I just think they look a bit barried with the low profiles, and standard looking cars really stand out (to me anyway). But then it ain't my car! biggrin

Stunning car OP!

I always wanted those rims for mine when I had it (many moons ago). 18 inch Compomotive MO's. Ask me how I know they're 18s?
Because 17 inch and under only had 5 spokes. You had to go to 18 inch to get the 6 spokes. How sad is it that I still remember that 15 years on. nerd

Mine also had leaky stem seals. I once put 5/40 fully synthetic oil in and after 300 miles the level has gone from max to min on the dipstick! I nearly pooped myself. I stick some thicker stuff in and it was better but I chopped it in for my first 911.

Anyway, keep up the good work. thumbup

Pic of my old one.

Ha, Spender was great! Well the black Cosworth was. Jimmy Nail moved into the new estate in my home town when I was a lad. Me and two mates rode down to his house and parked our BMXs against his fence to use them as ladders. As we peered into his garden hoping to get a glimpse of the great thespian, he burst out of the house and shouted "How! F*ck off!". Lovely bloke. hehe
In hindsight I'd be miffed if kids kept looking over my garden fence, I suppose.

One of the lads at work brought Jimmy Nail's CD in for nightshift, the other month, Crocodile shoes. It's hilariously bad. When the lyrics kick in (to the title song), it's impossible not to laugh. It was bad then and it hasn't aged well. wink

Mine worked fine! I'm the first to moan about a hot car, so would of remembered if it was crap, and it certainly wasn't as Clarkson described it.
I seem to remember the only downside being that part of it would of had to be removed to go to stage 3? So I kept it as stage 1.
It had Koni shocks and springs and a Mongoose exhaust, I LOVED the sound of it, and still do. Pretty much the only 4 pot I'd entertain owning again laugh

I'm so annoyed that I had to sell it, but I had just lost my lift to work and had to use it daily for a while, and for various reasons couldn't afford to buy a 2nd car so it had to go frown
Of all the cars Ive owned it was easily the one that got the most looks and attention.
I'm sure all you owners remember that, and the grown men at petrol stations reminiscing!
I even had a few people shout across car parks and someone knock on the window while I was in a McDonalds drive through asking if I wanted to sell it.
Good memories smile

That's handy! It's a shame they're so expensive now and rare with air-conditioning as I'd have one as a daily if they weren't!

Yeah it's annoying but that's the only downside to fmic. The latter Escort Cosworth's charge cooler set up might have been an idea for stage 3. I recall running 20psi on a T34 hybrid through a 4wd Cosworth cooler. They were as good as the Pace RS500 style so you would probably have gotten away with it.

One thing that did used to make me laugh was how many so called experts tried to tell me that mine wasn't genuine because apparently they never made them in silver laugh

You get that with rwd Sapphires as well if you haven't got a vented bonnet - experts telling you it's non- genuine as it hasn't got a vented bonnet laugh

This thread is annoyingly a constant reminder that for a variety of reasons mine's still safely locked away in it's garage and not out being enjoyed.
These still get a lot of attention, although not as much as they used to. Slightly worryingly the youth of today generally has no idea what they are.
I am trying to remedy this in my own little way, starting with my own offspring.
