How do I top this for fun?
Discussion
Superb car history, I was a little worried when I opened the thread to see a 335d - somewhat mollified on watching the video, extremely impressive pace, but I wasn't convinced about the "fun".
Then I kept scrolling. Great work!
To answer the question in the title, though: you don't. You can't. Not with any car currently on the market, not even close.. Every time I experience an Atom it rearranges my head, whether driving or getting to watch someone else's footwork and suspension movement! Most recently, I had a ride around Bedford in a very well-driven 310 and I realised I don't think I've had more fun driving any other road car than I was as a passenger in that, and it's not for lack of experience either. Break your habit and keep that one

I'm a huge admirer of superbikes, my dads been a biker for all his life.
And as for pace, the bikes lick everything especially those bikes shown there... The guy I bought the atom also had a HP4 carbon Bmw bike.
I think it's a different kind of fun... a car that has bike performance (r6 straight line pace) but can comfortable out corner and brake pretty much all bikes = a lot of fun, plus with a car you can adjust the rear end without worrying too much...
Bang for buck a bike will always win... But the atom is as close as you can get on 4 wheels imo

I agree an Atom is one of the closest things to a bike but put some sticky rubber on & you'll be surprised at how much grip & braking force you've actually got with ABS Slipper Clutches & anti wheelie you'll be surprised at how well a modern 1000cc sports bike can go.
Yes must admit the bikes are making bigger steps in terms of handling abilities than cars... The atom is just you and road with no assists what so ever.Plus bikes can use a bigger radius on the corners due to such a small foot print.
But then the latest atom 3.5r looks amazing and really want one!! 0-100 in less than 6s raises the game again!
Have a watch of this and listen to the atom! Like an angry wasp!

Faster than any of the competition including he 458 speciale which is 5x the cost!

take a look at this:

not a fair test due to the weather but an interesting one
Here's a good example how much bike tech has moved on in the last few years:
In 2008 the 1098s was one of the best you could buy not quite the best but a fair representation. Bike 1.40 lap
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Man0X0bf8vk
Then take a look at this same track still not the best 1000cc bike out there, but nearly a 4 sec improvement in time.

At test between an Atom & the 2015 RSV4/HP4/R1M on a dry track would be a very interesting & close watch.

I went into the local bike shop to buy a couple of helmets and had a look at the H2... That looks fecking awesome! Speaking to the owner of the shop and he has one on order and says it's the fastest accelerating bike ever.... And the "r" version has an extra 80-100bhp ! Just insane.
Anyway, as far as cars go I can't see how the atom can be bettered for fun.... Equalled perhaps by the likes of caterham 620r etc but just love the unique modern design of the atom...
Yesterday I decided to buy a set of A048's so they should come this week. (Just in time for the snow it seems)
Next up is to investigate further with the suspension.
Oh and to find a car for Le Mans.

There must be quite a few people who like the Atom but find Caterhams a bit embarrassing and 'old tt out on the weekend'. I am one of them. I have seen 5-10 Caterhams in the last few years. All driven terribly. All driven by a guy in his 50s wearing a stupid hat.Anyway, as far as cars go I can't see how the atom can be bettered for fun....
