Not a huge poster on here but often share my new purchases...

As a serial car changer I have changed again for something more summer orientated..

Car history over last 2 and a bit years is

Bmw 335d with down pipe and map as well as csl wheels was great cruiser and ridiculously quick in gear!

3rd gear pull for reference
http://youtu.be/uttDIK5z3mI

Then I decided for a more compact petrol alternative..
N54 engined 135i which I added a few BMWP goodies and a jb4 piggyback Module... Probably the best mod I've ever bought for any car especially for £320!
Literally changes a pretty sedate fast car into a bit of a bonkers one at the touch of a button and can be done as driving...

Then I took in a audi s5 as a part ex which was a great poser mobile but not really my cup of tea.

Managed to shift it on pretty quick but at a very competitive price too

Then didn't know where to go so a r32 popped up a couple of miles away so thought I'd try one of them..
Really liked the car just felt very lazy..

Was soon bored of the golf and fancied something a bit more extreme so decided on a focus RS which had the CP400 pack on... I added new pilot supersports on some JWR alloys big AP racing brakes and upped it to CP420.. The car was as good as hot hatches get imo.. Bonkers, very quick, very lairy and the noise was just awesome.

Started to get itchy feet again and we'd got married and booked a holiday to go to Le mans and see a bit of Europe so decided to opt for something a bit special for the trip albeit risky..

Couldn't have wished for a better car for the job tbh, roof off when desired, huge boot, ridiculous attention as well as pretty dam economic !! and a huge thanks to Hexham horseless carriages perfect.
Decided to sell not long after I got back as we'd not long bought our new house and money needed spent.

Then decided on a c63 estate with the performance pack plus.. No real changes to the car but cut out secondary cats to make it a little more fruity..
Held its own against a 605bhp evo

Really miss that car...

Then bought a TTRS plus as it came up on the audi dealer network at a ridiculously good price! So snapped that up without seeing it and got it delivered following week and was up at Ecotune before it was even washed getting an APR stage 1 tune.. Made it literally supercar pace! Seamless torque through the s-tronic was insane but I have to admit it did feel numb.

Which brings me to my latest purchase...

Weather was brightening up and fancies another bonkers rare car for (possibly Le mans, wife permitting)
After keeping an eye on the market for them I decided to message a local petrol head I knew of who had one on Facebook and low and behold he said he was thinking of selling..
Went to view it following day and placed a deposit !
Top guy said no rush and gave me it at a competitive price.

So here's some pics

Only a week into ownership and really starting to learn the car.
A few rattles are getting sorted, suspension off to get stripped and greased up in next week or so.
But it's a very quick car and you really have to have your wits about you.. A lot of movement at backend specially under heavy braking but prob needs suspension tweaked to improve some more..
It has a lot of options such as the big brakes, rear aero, LSD, detachable steering wheel, adjustable suspension..
It's an atom 2 supercharged so is quite an early one and am sure there's plenty of decent upgrades to do if I choose...
Look forward to a hot summer :$

The bad news is the wife is in protest and won't go to Le Mans so am on search for a car that I can take and enjoy the trip in preferably under 10k..

Thanks

I have bought a helmet this week, it does take a bit away from the experience but mainly to reduce the turbulent air hitting my eardrums. Eye protection is a must and for most full face protection, but I dont mind taking a bit of a risk... Certainly A roads and motorways a helmet is a valued piece of clothing/equipment.

The 335d really was silly quick in 3rd!

Just WOW that is a mighty impressive collection of cars you have had, I would happily take any one of them myself, probably the TVR being an ex owner! beer

If you get the tiny gun sight screens fitted that remove the buffeting but I wear a helmet anyway, what have you got the suspension set at? It shouldn't squirm under heavy braking?

Nice set of cars, really fancy a TVR like that =)

Tvr gets a lot of love..

The little rifle type lenses I'm thinking of aren't available for the atom 2 are they?

Suspension was initially on setting 1 but have since changed that to 5 (softest?!) and is a lot better.. The rear tyres are about shot while fronts are like new so that will only enhance the issue...

When you Pull chassis up on any corner it stays there as does it when you push down so the whole suspension joints especially the dog bone type one at end of each shocker needs greased at there drier than ghandis flip flop.

They did make them for the 2, same option as the 3.5 I have, you can order them direct from the factory and fit yourself, I'm sure they will send you instructions.

Worth playing with the suspension but like you say it sounds like you have a few things to sort out first smile

What an awesome set of cars. Very jealous.

Love the 335d. Hope to have a 335i in the not too distant myself...

That photo of the Evo and the C63 is wonderful. Perfect 2 car garage for me.

I phoned the factory up regarding a wind shield but they said they didn't make the small screens for the 2, but mad a double bubble screen that replaced the plastic mould.
But no longer make them so would be a one off ...

I do admire the evo, it's a very nice example soon to be 670bhp

The TVR and Ariel are the pic of your car history for me. The aero on the Atom, even though quite big seems to suit the cars and its proportions.
Hope the geo and tweeks get it driving right for you and we get that long hot summer thumbup

As for your username... no shcensoredt! laugh

Ariel Nomad next then - Autocar's write-up "One of the best driving experiences we've ever had" makes my chest hurt with want.

And it's got a windscreen:

Amazing car history, would love any one of those.
Remember you posting up the 335d before, think I saved a picture of it somewhere it looked that right! the video of it doing 30-110 is just silly, I had no idea they were that quick, that must be faster in gear than most previous gen supercars?

Favourite for me is the TVR. Wish I could get into one of those but the horror stories scare me off even if it really is exaggerated on the internet.

Please keep this updated as I'm sure there will be something new sometime soon :P although the atom looks crazy fun.

Bar a B7 RS4, that is pretty much my dream collection of cars within a sensible budget... So to speak!

Which was the best all rounder?

The 335d was indeed seriously quick and surprisingly tractible!
The new one will be awesome with the better gearbox and even more power...

Best all rounder was prob c63 and TVR
Tvr was like a sporty gt car, 30mpg on cruise, roof off when required, space for dog between us or behind us, a great package and it was a 2 s with the sagaris engine. Should have kept it really...
The c63 was a complete beast and handled very well with great steering. The noise on cold start up was intense... No real downsides to that car tbh apart from the gearbox that isnt a patch on the Bmw or audi equivalents for obvious reasons (double clutch vs auto)

Currently enquiring about an m5 for the Le Mans trip but might be biting off more than I can chew ...
