For me the wheels almost work with the body colour in the daylight. Still a "brave" decision though.
I really like the car and keeping it as "period" as possible is great.
I can almost smell the 80s again. (Which mostly consisted of unburnt fuel if I recall correctly.)
Thanks for the reply , i still intend to keep it original although the wheel colour is far from it! You are very correct with the "80s" smell I really like the car and keeping it as "period" as possible is great.

Thanks for the replies some interesting info in there , I have looked before for an original set of wheels/trims and couldn't find any in good condition (i will keep looking now and then!). I had a look at the Monroe shocks and they are cheap although as mentioned you'll need more weight over the front with gas filled rather than oil filled shocks, but their standard oil filled shocks are just as cheap.

Love it!! My first car 20 years ago was a 1988 fiesta mk2 1.4 ghia in red E211XGJ I bought it with 56k miles with a knackered clutch and sold it 3 yrs later with 130k on the clock. I loved that car , I used to enjoy beating the 1.3 nova sr boys at the lights
Thanks! Good to hear you enjoyed owning yours .Regards,
Matt

Hope you manage to get it sorted with minimum fuss. Insurance any help?
Good too see it's still alive and kicking though
Thanks, didn't even bother with insurance as i'm certain they would of written it off as the value isn't a huge amount. Also i'm sure they would make my premium at the next renewal a ridiculous amount.Hope you manage to get it sorted with minimum fuss. Insurance any help?
