As one old Fiesta owner to another, I salute you. And yours is in better nick.

I'm sure I see less mk2s than mk1s, not sure why.
Thanks smile , But yours is a mk1 xr2 and it looks awesome in the pic! Personally i would be thrilled to own a mk1 xr2.

Matt

Collected the paint for my wheels after work today biggrin , as previously said it's a marmite colour choice for the car but I thought it would be different! Although it's only a small cost if i want to change it in the future.

The colour i'm going with is Ferrari Oro metallic

For me the wheels almost work with the body colour in the daylight. Still a "brave" decision though.

I really like the car and keeping it as "period" as possible is great.

I can almost smell the 80s again. (Which mostly consisted of unburnt fuel if I recall correctly.)
Thanks for the reply smile , i still intend to keep it original although the wheel colour is far from it! You are very correct with the "80s" smell biggrin

Matt

Thanks for the comments and i appreciate both smile . I don't intend to lower the car as thats not what i personally want and it seems the majority of them are lowered. I wouldn't mind a set of the XR2 steels and trims as i quite like them, although they're rare and expensive!

Matt

Thanks for the replies some interesting info in there smile , I have looked before for an original set of wheels/trims and couldn't find any in good condition (i will keep looking now and then!). I had a look at the Monroe shocks and they are cheap although as mentioned you'll need more weight over the front with gas filled rather than oil filled shocks, but their standard oil filled shocks are just as cheap.

Matt

Love it!! My first car 20 years ago was a 1988 fiesta mk2 1.4 ghia in red E211XGJ I bought it with 56k miles with a knackered clutch and sold it 3 yrs later with 130k on the clock. I loved that car , I used to enjoy beating the 1.3 nova sr boys at the lights smile
Thanks! Good to hear you enjoyed owning yours smile .

bds!

Hope you manage to get it sorted with minimum fuss. Insurance any help?

Good too see it's still alive and kicking though smile
Thanks, didn't even bother with insurance as i'm certain they would of written it off as the value isn't a huge amount. Also i'm sure they would make my premium at the next renewal a ridiculous amount.

Matt
