Love it!! My first car 20 years ago was a 1988 fiesta mk2 1.4 ghia in red E211XGJ I bought it with 56k miles with a knackered clutch and sold it 3 yrs later with 130k on the clock. I loved that car , I used to enjoy beating the 1.3 nova sr boys at the lights
Thanks! Good to hear you enjoyed owning yours .Regards,
Matt

bds!
Hope you manage to get it sorted with minimum fuss. Insurance any help?
Good too see it's still alive and kicking though
Thanks, didn't even bother with insurance as i'm certain they would of written it off as the value isn't a huge amount. Also i'm sure they would make my premium at the next renewal a ridiculous amount.Hope you manage to get it sorted with minimum fuss. Insurance any help?

UPDATE ON CAR!!!
Thought i would update this post for anyone who might of been interested (mostly previous owner)
after almost owning the car for a year it still puts a smile on my face!
never fails to turn heads and always a conversation starter!
not much has changed since i brought it, apart from from doing what matt never wanted to do by lowering it 50mm :P
I think it looks much better but not looking slammed.
its in need for some major sill repairs so thats getting done in the next few weeks
apart from that its been a sound little car, hopefully it keeps going strong!
future plans are to put xr2 spot lights on maybe change the wheels to mini lites, would love to have a more powerful engine but as the engine runs so sweet and never misses a beat is there any point?! will see where the next year takes us ahah
any way here are some recent photos of her!
cheers josh

Friend of mine had a succession of Fiestas when we were at school/college. A Blue MK2 which got crashed, a red MK3 which was rubbish and gold Ghia MK1 which lasted for AGES until it started rusting away. It did break down a bit every so often but could be fixed at the side of the road with paperclips and a penknife.
Just realised that photo is from 2007!

Great to see you still have the Mk2 Josh! I have to say although I wouldn't have lowered it I'm glad to see you still have the car and it's in one piece Keep posting as it'll be great to see some more updates!
yeah need to keep these old girls on the road!! I've kept all the original parts so if i ever change my mind or someone want to take it back to original if i sell it they can!! will keep posting updates!!got the car back from the garage on monday from getting a new drivers side inner and outer sills! they were pretty shot so happy to have solid metal there! looks so much better even in just matte black, need to get it to a body shop to finnish it off! the other side is okay but thinking of just redoing both inner and outer as well just so i know its rust free!!! while they were there the gave the under side of the car a coat of under seal. all my money and focus if on the exterior of the car as the interior is perfect part from needing a new set of door cards. one job at a time!
