Friend of mine had a succession of Fiestas when we were at school/college. A Blue MK2 which got crashed, a red MK3 which was rubbish and gold Ghia MK1 which lasted for AGES until it started rusting away. It did break down a bit every so often but could be fixed at the side of the road with paperclips and a penknife.

Just realised that photo is from 2007!
Gosh, that picture brings back memories of my first car. Same car in orange. Owned from 2000-2001. Don't seem to have any pictures of it anywhere frown

Got a couple of jobs done recently that i have been wanting to do for a while but never got to it!!!
the little fez had a lot of audio equipment for the size it is!!!! so one afternoon ripped it all out so now looking more original apart form headunit.

then the next day got round to changing the antifreeze and thermostat, while that was drained out had a go at cleaning out the tank and thought it came out pretty nice! never going to get rid of the yellowing but looks miles better!!! some before and after shots.

and after a good scrub!

love getting these little bits done!! on to the the next job!!

Short story...

Lucky, lucky Bastid. First car was a black mkI xr2 DEV212X. Inevitably I wrote it off by cashing in through a large brick wall; lift off over-steer. Skillz. 1989. Engine and running gear rebuilt in my friends 1300SuperSport...I sold the wrecked thing for £500 iirc.

Came home one day from college to find four large boxes in the dinning room in my parents house. Valves for work my mum said. My dad was an engineer at FMC so no shock to find work stuff stored at home. A few days later four P600 tyres turned up...my dad and his friend Otten had sourced me four brand new pepper pots and P600 for my car. Like I said lucky, lucky Bastid. Wrote it off a few months later.

Nice leftfield choice of car.

A word of caution mind, they are incredibly easy to break in to, about 4 seconds easy. in Secondary School a friends mum had one. Said friend bragged how easily he could break in to it. I doubted him so he got a coat hanger, slid it behind the rubber and caught the lock. Straight in, and this was a 12 year old kid!

Get a wheel lock or similar.

I soaked in white vinegar for about 6 hours then use violets powered natural mineral bleach with boiling water, that stuff went mad and ate all the grime without scrubbing!!

The header tank looks a lot better and will make a difference visually. The fiesta had more audio in when my brother bought the car as it had a sub and some speakers in the parcel shelf which he removed as it was really loud and didn't look great.

yeah think it came out alright!!! wow weighing it down ahaha!! it was all pointless for two speakers and hated the look of it all so it had to go!! hate looking at the two tweeters in the door cards too always on the lookout for untouched cards!!

To be honest my brother would have rather had it standard that's why he search for quite a while for a standard parcel shelf with the straps as the one with speakers was a heavy bit of mdf and the sub he took out was covered in an odd bit of carpet so it definitely looks better without all of it, keep it up as it looks like it's getting the attention it needs.
